This big group oriented radio program I used to be part of - once we thought about doing an entire in Esperanto, but most of the music was really not that interesting - EXCEPT this track.
We ended up just doing a show on made up languages, with a smattering of Esperanto.
Avatar 7:07pm
spacebrother:

You've seen "Incucbus," right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07pm
Rich in Washington:

There were a few rock bands, but by then, it sort of drifted out of the show's artsy fartsy avant garde format.

Incubus

I've sort of watched it in bits and pieces. I probably should, huh?
Avatar 7:08pm

You should still do it. Maybe here.

Yeah, The idea of seeing a whole film in Esparanto with Shatner is probly better in theory than in practice.
Avatar 7:12pm
Otis Fodder:

I might need a number to call due to the realization that I have been humming/singing along to the past three slow numbers and know most, if not all, lyrics. Reaching out for helppppp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm
Rich in Washington:

I can't remember. It seems like the version I found on YouTube didn't have subtitles or something. I was thinking sampling some of it for the radio show but then we all agreed that Esperanto in and of itself wasn't as interesting as playing stuff like Magma or Sigur Ros, etc.
Avatar 7:13pm
Otis Fodder:

More like... you didn't need to bring your son to the studio.
Avatar 7:14pm
Otis Fodder:

Thank you for Jet Lady!!

Aww, that Gilberto was lovely...

I've become somewhat obsessed with watching these YouTube videos where nerds recreate noteable airline disasters or near disasters using some flight simulator software.
I think I need help, too.

Was flipping thru this book whilst recently visiting Catalina Island. know this one Greg?

Wasn't Catalina the site of that famous silvery UFO film/sighting? I remember seeing it on some goofy old UFO documentary and the narrator says 'it suddenly stopped and hovered..' and they just freeze the film.
Avatar 7:19pm

Yes. There's a famous film. It's a plane.

I still think that the Shat graphic looks like he's hitting himself in time with the music. Sometimes.
Avatar 7:28pm
Mr Fab:

mrs fab was just asking the other day about Burl Ives. Most people nowadays only know him for his Christmas songs.
Avatar 7:28pm

He was a prolific bastard.

Avatar 7:30pm

I think I'd heard that. Maybe he was just a bastard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30pm

The last thing I saw Burl in was some late 80s/early 90s Skinemax type romantic crime drama. A kind of ripoff of Wild At Heart. I can't remember exactly which.
Avatar 7:31pm
Mr Fab:

Damn, that sucks abut Burl the fink!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31pm

During an era when I was married to someone who managed a video rental store. I saw easily 5 - 8 really bad movies a week, usually screeners.

I worked in post production for 25 years. I saw a WHOLE LOT of crap. Mostly uninteresting crap.
Avatar 7:34pm

Which is the cardinal sin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm

I think that era and my time combing video stores for cool and strange movies really made it hard for me to sit through entire movies anymore. Just really got burned out.
Avatar 7:36pm

I was inoculated against most visual media. I just saw so much junk that I burned out.
Avatar 7:36pm

Crazy good version of Get Smart!

Glad you liked it! Sort of a palate cleanser.
Avatar 7:38pm

Does anyone know the story with this track?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm

I so wanna DJ a planetarium! I guess our local one is rentable for occasions. Hate to think how much it is, though.

Martinibomb turned me onto this single last summer and then I found the LP almost immediately after!
Avatar 7:45pm

Playing part II and then another amazing track from the album later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm
Rich in Washington:

Coincidence..?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm
Rich in Washington:

This song should end abruptly with the sound of a bullet crashing through a window and a car peeling off in the background.
Avatar 7:46pm
spacebrother:

:)
Avatar 7:46pm
spacebrother:

This show repeats itself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm

Starcher died right after 9/11. Coincidence?
Avatar 7:47pm
Mr Fab:

think it was Homer and Jethro that did a parody of this song re: the eerie parallels between Lyndon Johnson and Batman.
Avatar 7:47pm
Otis Fodder:

No coincidence, no no. Hold on, connecting dots. Must concentrate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm

My fifth grade teacher had that list of Lincoln/Kennedy facts on his bulletin board.
