A friend of mine did a piece w/ Luc Ferrari at the Kitchen, I got to shake his hand and talk a bit, he was amiable. He passed two years later.

(I have the recording that has yet to be released).

NGH, that's mind blowing. Are you also a composer? What instrument do you play? Just curious.
Avatar 5:26pm
northguineahills:

@geezerette: I play a lot of instruments poorly, although I'm classically trained in the French horn, cornet, and keyboard (only have a cornet right now, French horns are pricey). Lately, I've been leaning more to the Fluxus/Cageian school of composition, but Braxton is an inspiration as well. I rely on people who are virtuosos to carry out my ideas (and they come from all genres).

Wow! Cat Power and The Durutti Column! So cool. Samantha you are a radio goddess:) BTW this is Robin Eisgrau. I had a bit of sign in wonkiness so I changed my name.

@dale- welcome home. David Fields has scarfed up dozens of stations under Radio.com app guise and pumped them full of ads and idiotic blabber. We will never be the same over here. There used to be useful local AM news and dependable FM music, but NO MORE.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm
dale:

driving across the state i scrolled around and found some interesting broadcast band i could tolerate but the fm band was just a horror show. and SO MUCH JESUS!!!!!
  6:46pm
JakeGould:

@dale: You know, media centers that have a strong Jewish population don’t endlessly broadcast the “Good News!” about Moses. Just saying!
  6:46pm
Frump:

HAHA dale, isn't it a a hard thing to be in Northern Maine and suddenly realize there are only two stations... one is conversing about Christ and the other playing "rock" about Him?
  6:48pm
Bob from Toronto:

Great show Samantha! I listen to your show on earbuds at the laundromat. Your show competes with bands like Loverboy playing on the local boomer radio station at the laundromat.

Bryce or Olivia should do a live broadcast from a laundromat at some point. Marbles in a dryer or some such sounds.

What's an Affair?
According to Atlantic mag, none of you youngsters with frenetic date apps
are remotely able to find partners, much less enjoy sex.

  7:37pm

Here is that nonsense article. www.theatlantic.com...

Digging the sounds
  7:41pm
JakeGould:

I think the phrase “getting laid” is old people talk at this point.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm
queems:

can confirm that the idea of "getting over yourself to get laid" is false
  7:46pm
Frump:

But the frankly naive and stupidly assuming porno-informed shit is why men don't get laid in 2019,
which was a main point in the article...
Music good, me like.
  7:48pm
sos:

Just tuned in but loving what I'm hearing so far.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49pm
Hughie Considine:

In "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" we catch a glimpse of 'laid' at its least prurient and most timeless.
  7:50pm
JakeGould:

@queems: Yeah, but you know some people need to get drunk, get high, get smacked, get hugged, take a break, walk around the block, go away and—in some cases—get laid.
Avatar 7:55pm
northguineahills:

It's hard to get laid when your married..... and your wife lives 1500 miles away (she's technically a millennial, me, not so much).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00pm
Hughie Considine:

"It's hard to get laid when your married..... and your wife lives 1500 miles away" is the new Mark Kozelek single, i'm pretty sure
  8:01pm
Frump:

Sorry I started this here. The thing I'm hearing from teenagers now (my own included) is "Sex?
Meh."
The human species is DOOMED!
