Is the program called Radio Ravioli because it's a near anagram of your name, Olivia? Or do you use the name Olivia because it's a near anagram of ravioli?

Hi errybody. queems, what are you crocheting?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm

@kat hi! i'm just starting a wool neck tube/cowl thing that is basically just chevron pattern

Nice thing about crochet is it works up quick and you'll have that cowl while you still need it :)

@kat right?? i always make stuff and then never finish it in time to wear it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm
Kat in Chicago:

@queems me too. I've been knitting with bulky yarn this winter, which I don't enjoy as much, but I actually finished a sweater and hope to get a jacket done as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
queems:

@kat i've been meaning to learn how to knit because i want to make sweaters! i found this gorgeous pattern for a crocheted sweater but i haven't yet invested in the yarn required to make it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm
Kat in Chicago:

@queems I think knitting is harder than crochet, but it's definitely more versatile for wearables, so I took it up. I knit a lot of socks because a sock is an easy project to carry around and work on when you're on the train or in a waiting room.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm
queems:

@kat definitely. i tend to start a lot of blanket projects and then realize that they aren't very portable for commuting. but i just love making blankets. i recently got into filet crochet which is basically crocheting pictures into a grid. it's really cool, but you use that cotton thread for it, and it takes forever
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm
Kat in Chicago:

yeah, filet crochet is neat-looking but I've never tried it.

@steveo - that's crazy - on my fake post office run I bought a box of entenmann's crumb topped donuts from the ghetto grocery. My teeth are singing!
Avatar 2:27pm

I've only eaten half of the box so far, but I still have half a thermos of russian caravan, so it don't look good for the donuts.

With Bill Berger gone and now no Diane there ain't much metal to be had. Except if I let my wife phone her spotify over the bluetooth. It's all she plays - extreme scandinavian melodic death metal. That's actually what it's called. I can take it for like fifteen minutes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm
coelacanth∅:

thursday's have been my favorite days on wfmu for years - through many schedule changes. unfortunately true, Diane's gone; but Olivia is here; and the drummer stream later on makes it really hard to choose sometimes.
(even more difficult on wednesdays, when the ichiban serves up 2 excellent shows as well)
