Tanson  Aya   Favoriting Together (V/A)  Oxtail Recordings  2018  re: the "Together" collection (from Oxtail Records): Charlottesville, VA occupies a special place in the Oxtail Recordings world - we've released a number of tapes from Charlottesville artists, and the town and music community there have always been unbelievably warm, welcoming, and inspiring to us. We were heartbroken by the white supremacist "Unite the Right" rally and subsequent violence there during the weekend of August 11-12, 2017. Oxtail artist & friend to all Tyler Magill (of Grand Banks and Carry) was among those protesting the rally that weekend, and he ended up suffering a stroke as a result of being assaulted by torch-wielding fascists on the evening of August 11. The tragedy of those events shook us deeply, and the opportunity to use the small platform we have in this label to raise money to fight hate, bigotry, and violence and to help our friend heal was a no-brainer. We believe that openness, engagement, and understanding are the ways to fight division, fear, and hatred. With that in mind, we're proud to present a release that attempts to forward those ideals, both in concept and in practice. Please enjoy: Together. Proceeds from the sale of this compilation will be donated to Showing Up for Racial Justice Charlottesville and Tyler Magill's medical fund.  *   0:37:45 (Pop-up)

The studio technicians were a joke - they were stoned or drunk and unhelpful most of the time - so we took over the recording sessions and recorded with their grand piano, synthesizers and other assorted instruments. When we came to leave, RAI refused to give us a copy of the recording. All we got was a cassette tape of it. It was unoffically released in 1982 on a label of unknown origin with unfamiliar titles, and one track appended with '(for Paula'), with a photo of her on the inner sleeve.... That misrepresentation of the work was eventually rectified when it was officially released some years later by Mute Records."    1:47:09 (Pop-up)

@Carol Around 1987 i was listening to a college radio station while living in Wisconsin. Lying on the floor, with headphones. The DJ who was on was someone I knew vaguely and would sometimes call in requests to. I really wanted to hear Echoes, but couldn't muster the energy to get up and call him (I still remember the number ... 346-2696!) And then a couple of minutes later, that "Ping!" sound started...he played the full Meddle version, a telepathic request.

@Carol: Do not ever apologize for playing Floyd!

Floyd is friggin' freaky fab, no apology needed.

Another thing that comes across from that extra footage on the Pompeii video (and confirmed in Blake's book) is what a hard time Rick Wright was continually being given, despite his unfaltering commitment to the music and creative contributions. Poor Rick : ( Waters doesn't come across terribly well.
