  10:05pm Carmichael:

Avatar 10:08pm twinoak170:

Hi Therese, Carmichael and everybody else arriving soon!
Avatar 10:11pm northguineahills:

hola, woofmooers!!!
Avatar 10:14pm northguineahills:

already entranced! TP!
  10:15pm Listener Robert:

Ever notice the similarity between that & the incidental music to the Batman TV show?
  10:15pm WAtonian:

most likely Douglas Fir...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Therese and accomplices. Off we go!
Avatar 10:26pm twinoak170:

I have that Monkees album somewhere.
  10:28pm Carmichael:

I bought every Monkees album when they came out. Except fir Pool It.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32pm Mark Hurst:

Hi Therese!
  10:32pm old ERIC thee hat:

I’m listening.
  10:32pm asheville jon:

Hey, i'm listening!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32pm Tome:

this is the best thing Sunday night , hi Therese !
  10:33pm old ERIC thee hat:

What are Oscars for again?”
  10:34pm seth from muddy creek:

Twin Peaks. In VCR days.
  10:36pm seth from muddy creek:

Oscar as in Meyer?
  10:37pm smeltbuddy:

I'm listening. anyway
  10:38pm Spot:

Oscars? You mean those weiners are still popular?
  10:40pm Carmichael:

When Josie turned into a dresser knob, that was it for me.
  10:40pm Carmichael:

Mould does a killer version of RT’s Turning of the Tide.
  10:42pm smeltbuddy:

that was a pleasant song
Avatar 10:42pm northguineahills:

The only team sports are the ones from my alma mater (so, college), and for pro sports professional, association football (soccer), but mostly Olympic sports (winter and summer).
Avatar 10:44pm twinoak170:

Who is the Jeanie referenced in the Redd Kross song?
  10:48pm phillippe bastille:

hi Therese and friends. rarely get to listen live but I always catch the archive. always a wonderful show.
  10:50pm Christopher Clabbers:

Therese, great to hear you. Woke up early to Carol, watched Manchester United (soccer) at 9am, watched a mediocre Jude Law movie (Black Sea), napped, went to gym, went to a Oscar party and now listening to you! see, it can be done!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm Therese:

Excellent time management, Christopher! I'm happy to report that I woke up enough to catch a bit of Carol's show myself.
  10:57pm Carmichael:

Good ol’ Shel.
Avatar 10:57pm northguineahills:

@Christopher: I did the same, I usually watch soccer on mute early on the weekend morns on mute, and either listen to history/philosophy/linguistic podcast, or WFMU.
  11:01pm katharsis:

Lost Shel’s house in the storm they called Irma
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:01pm Andrew Waterloo:

I didn't know about a Boy Named Sue.
  11:04pm Listening Out There:

Evening, all...
Avatar 11:05pm twinoak170:

Very excited about the marathon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Dave Mandl ... w00t!
Avatar 11:07pm twinoak170:

You are great as you are, just be yourself.
  11:11pm phillippe bastille:

I know I'm in the minority but i really enjoy the nascar race every Sunday. not thought of as a thinking person's sport but the engineering, business, and athletics side gets way overlooked
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11pm Therese:

Thank you, @twinoak170!
Avatar 11:13pm northguineahills:

putting raw peanuts to boil in the slow cooker for 24 hours, w/ ghost peppers, poblanos, raw garlic, shrimp boil, and Cajun boil, and salt, rather simple. Should be ready by tomorrow night!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13pm Therese:

Phillippe- my sister and her family moved to Virginia about 10 years ago and they have been trying to get me to go to a NASCAR race with them ever since.
  11:13pm smeltbuddy:

Avatar 11:16pm northguineahills:

@phillipe: I'm not usually into nascar (but I do like races that are not on oval tracks), but I usually watch the Daytona 500 (for some odd reason w/ my bio family), it's fun! I used to go to the figure 8 school bus races in Long Island, which was always interesting.

(but I'm the thinking-non-thinking man...)
Avatar 11:18pm twinoak170:

I heard Joe Frank’s “Green Cadillac” on fmu driving home the other day, I didn’t want it to end.
Avatar 11:21pm Hams:

it's cool when they crank up the engines. i grew up watching nascar, going to a few races in atlanta w/ my folks. but when earnhardt died my parents pretty much turned off the TV for good; that was their man.
Avatar 11:23pm Hams:

they haven't paid attention to nascar since.. my niece went to a race the other week.
Avatar 11:24pm Hams:

whoa, there's school bus racing in long island?
  11:24pm phillippe bastille:

@therese it's a great experience. Richmond has a great track that has a lot of opportunities for good side by side racing. if they are on the martinsville side of the state, great short track. fan experience and athlete access blows away most sports
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25pm Therese:

Is that the South Side Speedway?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30pm Ken From Hyde Park:

About a year after Dale Earnhart went, I saw a car here with NASCAR #3 specialty plates reading "SOOO SAD." They must have really taken it hard.
  11:31pm phillippe bastille:

@hams I hear ya. dale jr, Gordon and Stewart all retiring took away most of the old audience. I think its amazing how the teams can figure out how to adjust a car from unloading to the last 10 laps on sunday to make it competitive
  11:32pm phillippe bastille:

I am not familiar with the south side track. what part of va are they in?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34pm Therese:

They're in the Richmond area.
Avatar 11:35pm Hams:

yeah, i'm surprised they didn't retire the #3 after such a thing.
  11:36pm SeanG:

  11:36pm pbastille:

some amazingly fit athletes as well. Landon Cassel did a half iron man on a Saturday morning to qualify for the world championship, then drove the 600 mile race that night
Avatar 11:39pm Hams:

nascar blew up there for a minute a few years back or so. but supposedly now they can't fill up the extra seats.
Avatar 11:40pm Hams:

there should absolutely be a WFMU car, just don't know who would drive it.
  11:40pm phillippe bastille:

@therese ah. looked it up. short track in Midlothian. that would be a fun place to go.
  11:41pm phillippe bastille:

they started taking out seats so they dont look pathetic. still sold 100k seats for Daytona tho.
Avatar 11:41pm twinoak170:

First time hearing that voice, wow!
Avatar 11:41pm northguineahills:

Thanks, Therese, I got to get getting, got some interviews tomorrow. Cheer y OOOs!
  11:47pm phillippe bastille:

one last nascar pimping: former driver Geoff Bodine designs and builds Olympic bobsleds. three US Olympic medals were won in his builds
Avatar 11:47pm Hams:

ah, i guess daytona should always have a good turnout.
  11:50pm phillippe bastille:

great show therese. thanks everyone for enduring my guilty pleasure rambling. good night all.
Avatar 11:57pm twinoak170:

Great show Therese, thanks and have a great evening.
  11:59pm icy in LA:

p good show. thank!
  3:33am candymika:

Your page is beautiful and absolutely stands out. You can do something much better but I still say this is perfect.
