@john they block pornography/wikipedia/imgur but like what is blocked does not make a lot of sense given why they do it. So like reddit is fine, tumblr is fine, all news sites no matter how contreversial they are fine. Given what I do I suspect the U.S is more concerned with my posting here then anyone in any other nation.

@Cmurtha, the first lady of Turkey came to visit a Maarif school in my neighborhood last year. The Feds did a sweep of the building and there were tons of official vehicles and agents around the corner from my house and it made me nervous, then I found a tiny PR notice about her visit.

@john no they not are blocked, major media outlets are open, and you can get them on the satellite. So like, I can get british T.V/german T.V etc here.

@steveo its a great city, and I recommend everyone visit Turkey, though getting around without turkish can be challenging. Though in the tourist areas (see: Sultan Ahmet) the vendors etc, have a (workable) grasp of a surprising amount of languages.
