Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:33am Granny Spicy Tuna:

There could be a WFMU program that just plays treats from marathon premiums. So much groovy gravy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38am joe:

How did Dave the Spazz get in there?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38am Webhamster Henry:

Good morning, Drummer Givers!

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:49am doctorjazz:

You can also pledge at once (if it's Swag for Life) without comments or picking DJ's, then divide it when the show is on and comment then.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am Webhamster Henry:

You can always jump into a comment stream any old time and type your blubbering praise.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am Webhamster Henry:

I know I do!

Good morning, Doug, Friday morning-ers, and visiting ears.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am Doug Schulkind:

WISH I COULD BE MORE PRESENT IN THE COMMENTS TODAY. I'M A WEE BIT DISTRACTED IN THE STUDIO HERE AT FMU!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57am Andrew Waterloo:

I'm not much for clever comments this marathon
Avatar 9:58am Monica:

Sem, Brian, webhamster henry, ike, Artie, Joe, Granny Spicy Tuna, sinner, Listener Scott, Alex , and Robert - thx for swinging by for The Drummer!

Avatar 🥁 10:08am βrian:

Someone rally ought to make a list of "my first band" names from the Drummer comments board over the years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11am Maggie B.:

I love this Mighty Mouse.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14am Jeff Golick:

Almost too much radio goodness to handle this morning. Trane take the wheel!

Gottagottagottagottagottagotta pledge!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30am Listener Scott:

Maddest props in the world for creating the multiple stream concept Doug (while educating yourself up even). It seems obvious in retrospect but having extra streams makes WFMU so much more accessible while not ceding any integrity.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:31am JtotheK:

hi doug, hi monica; ahoy everyone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35am Jeff Golick:

There's the automated owl thing on Sheena, which goes overnight? David is definitely the only human going 4 hours on the regular, tho.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35am joe:

You should be a proud papa Doug.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am Webhamster Henry:

There have always been more worthy DJs and programs than hours in a week. When 43 Monty was bought and I saw there was room for several studios, I knew that WFMU could be expand to multiple streams.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am Dave Sewelson:

I can listen on the subway!
Avatar 🥁 10:38am βrian:

Durn. Missed Murray Saul!
  10:39am Alex In Illinois:

I don't recall the first time I discovered WFMU, but I know that it was in 1987, when I was just out of college and living in Dobbs Ferry
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39am Webhamster Henry:

@Jeff yes, Owlsun the robot does weeknight midnight-4AM, which is a little different from the scramble mode running on the streams between the live segments. The robot watches the comment board and can schedule requests and make up poems based on what's posted on there.
  10:40am Alex In Illinois:

My first favorite show was Wasted Vinyl.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41am Doug Schulkind:

Waaaaaaaasted Vinyl, you mean, Alex in Illinois!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41am Webhamster Henry:

I've streamed the Drummer while driving, but cell service is spotty driving through the Taconics. But that's no worse than the spotty FM signal!
Avatar 10:42am Monica:

Hey, JtotheK and Dave s.!
  10:43am Listener Gregory:

Thanks for the shout-out, Doug. However, my comment about going to Jersey City on the miserable morning is a leftover from when I initially made the pledge to poor Jeff Golick on Saturday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43am Webhamster Henry:

I found the large number of foreign culture and ancient recorded music played on WFMU attractive, and the Drummer stream reflects this taste admirably. Yet, the excellent curation also delights me with things I would never listen to.
  10:44am Listener Gregory:

Of course, you moved all the way to Pittsburgh to bring us the stream, and we all appreciate that too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46am Webhamster Henry:

Doug, do you have a map of GTDS hosts home studios?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50am Jeff Golick:

(@LG: and let's not forget Gary, who beat me out to the station that rainy morning...and brought coffee!)
Avatar 10:51am Herb Stevens:

Big love for Little Danny! He did a guest mix for our little ol' show over here in the UK.
Avatar 🥁 10:53am βrian:

Love those field recordings.
Avatar 11:03am Herb Stevens:

Avatar 11:08am đ¢ ÞäŦ:

Keep it going on, DrummerSome.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09am joe:

@Webhamster Henry the geek in me would love to see those studios as well. Uncle Michael I know has shared.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10am Doug Schulkind:

đ¢ ÞäŦ, Lewis, joe, EVERYONE. You folks are wonderful. Thank you so so much!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18am joe:

@Doug Schulkind all a very very very very very very very very very small price to pay for all the greatness we get.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am Jeff Golick:

"next of kin" probably not that common a phrase in most soul ballads?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am Jeff Golick:

In addition to selflessly and mindfully bringing wonderful shows to life via the Give the Drummer Radio, what's less evident is how patient and caring he is behind the scenes, calming and coaxing great radio out of people with much less experience, and much greater generalized anxiety, than he has.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am Jeff Golick:

So pledge for that, is what I mean.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:25am Brian in UK:

Hello Monica y Doug. Flying visit.. GOOD LUCK.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am Sem:

Yeah, Stanley!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26am Stanley:

Avatar 11:51am Lewis:

@Monica - So true!! many FMU DJs have deep knowledge, and Doug is among the elite on that front!
