thanks to Tim S from GA, who pledged to Flange and Frigate, and just got in under the wire! Want one of the remaining prizes, good sir?
  3:04pm
Martinibomb:

I've always thought it was funny that Polkas sound similar to Ranchera music. There's got to be a connection but I've never researched it.
Avatar 3:06pm
Mr Fab:

Dutch/German settlers moved to the border area, brought their polkas with 'em and, Mexicans picked up on it.
  3:06pm
Martinibomb:

Really? We can do live shows starting this summer?
  3:07pm
Martinibomb:

@Fab I've always figured that's what happened but I never looked into it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm
Otis Fodder:

There is word that it will happen in time, but not date set yet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm

Skip (or anyone pledging more than $20 for the duration of this show) can get, for starters:
- the New Surfsiders "Smile medley/Kokomo" )hilarious Beach Boys piss-take)
- Lee hazelwood!! CD
- "Sensacional Soul vol three - 2CDs

did not know that France Gall, that was cool. Get on Der Computer, gang, LAST DAY of the Sheena's marathon! Last chance to grab those groovy prizes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm
Rich in Washington:

I just put color-coded fader thingys on my mixer. You people are in for a treat later today.
  3:47pm
Martinibomb:

Color coded? How many channels is your mixer?
  3:53pm
Martinibomb:

I just stick with 4 channel mixer because otherwise my brain wants to self-detonate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm
Otis Fodder:

2-channel DJ mixer here for turntables. 8 channel mixboard that tape deck, CD and computer for digital files run through + mics and fx processor on the send/return.
  3:57pm
Martinibomb:

I have an 8ch mixer for music stuff actually it works with my ipad so I'll have traktor on that and then run 2 AUX out channels to my DJ mixer plus DJ mixer has Mic channels too.. As far as DJn it's easier for me to just focus on that 4channel beyond that I loose track
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm
Otis Fodder:

I keep it pretty simple here. Only FX is on my mic, just a tiny reverb. Otherwise, just up and downs for TTs, CD, Tape, Computer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm
Rich in Washington:

It's five stereo strips and two balanced single channels (mics). It's silly. The colored fader bits came from AliExpress and took a super long time to get here, so you can see why I'm so excited. See?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm
Jan Turkenburg:

aaahhhh, this is soothing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm
Rich in Washington:

It's a long discontinued DJ club type mixer that is almost for all practical purposes a mini radio station type console.

Avatar 4:21pm
Mr Fab:

Still available for a $20 or more pledge: an album by the mighty mighty Lee Hazelwood, described by an Amazon reviewer thusly: " its mostly pure sixties cheese. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy it, indeed some songs like Jose and The Night are so bad that they are good! Those who were young adults in the mid-sixties will find In Our Time is an excellent commentary on those times. After Six evokes the "lounge generation", while Suzi Jane Is Back In Town is just plain weird. My favorites are The Old Man and His Guitar and I Am A Part, both of which showcase Hazlewood's budding songwriting skills."
Avatar 4:24pm
Mr Fab:

Thanks to Joseph B from the UK for the pledge!!

I once made a mastercut tape of all the chuckling and guffawing from one of our local 'morning zoo' type morning shows over the course of several months.
