Elle Elle:

@spamoni lol!! I merely mentioned to him that I’d be passing close by his town. I used to live in that vicinity. Thank you for asking about my Dad! His vascular dementia is cruel to say the least. Luckily, the care facility where he lives has a support group for family members one Saturday per month. I listened and shared a bit, then spent some time with my dad. He initially knows who I am, but there are no more actual conversations. I’ll spare you all more details. The best I can get is when he seems to enjoy cookies or a banana I bring for him. Which he did :)

Elle Elle:

@CarolCrow, I hope I didn’t ramble incoherently in my email reply the other day!! Basically I’d like to pledge for last year’s premium if that’s possible.

Some of you may have heard of Scott’s Cheap Flights. It’s free, or subscribable for even better scoop on airfare deals. No catch. It’s a group of people whose job is finding cheap flights, mistake fares, etc.. and emailing them to whomever signs up! I get zero for sharing this, it’s a small company whose founder got a great deal on a flight and wanted to share how he did it:

Poor (too-rich) San Francisco; it's culturally interesting days are past.
Avatar 8:33am
randyfrommichigan:

@TDK60 yeah unfortunately that's the case with several cities ... I loved NYC back in the early 80's for same reason. Still SF, NYC are great cities. Detroit is great because it still has all that culturally interesting stuff - the gentrification only started in the past 10 years ... lots of great bars and restaurants downtown now, as well as safe. Last night we were downtown at dinner and symphony and it was so good.
