  3:05pm Harold Fridkis:

Last night's blackhole bandstand on SiriusXM was a blast! Just tuning in to the teenage wasteland now!
  3:08pm Harold Fridkis:

Keep on rockin',bill!
  3:11pm Al:

John Hawken was also in the original lineup of Renaissance.
  3:11pm John from Florham Park:

Hello fellow teen listeners
Avatar 3:17pm Sid:

Hi teens! Welcome to our weekly two hours of arrested development. Sounds so good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm fred:

Teens? Is anyone listening to this show under 60? I guess 70 is the new teens
  3:34pm John from Florham Park:

@fred 55 double nickel
Avatar 3:35pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yup. SpeedLimit.
  3:38pm C’villeBrian:

Rrrreal rock n’ roll.
  3:39pm John from Florham Park:

@revolution depending on where you drive
  3:42pm Al:

That Ron Dante record is new? Sounded like Sunshine Pop from the '60's or '70's.
Avatar 3:43pm Sid:

Not 60 here just yet. Hell, the host is under 70. For a few months anyway. Teen is definitely a state of mind......
Avatar 3:46pm Sid:

Ernie K. Doe answer rekkid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Paul from Toronto:

54, here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Spankyflop:

I've still got ~8 years till 60
Avatar 4:00pm Sid:

Plastic Section is apparently a mechanical/chemical engineering term: A plastic section modulus is a geometric property for a cross section of an object generally used in materials in which plastic behavior can be observed. Haven't had a chance to use that term since college. Those smart Aussies.
  4:02pm Al:

I'm in my 60's but younger than Mr. Kelly.
Avatar 4:02pm Beast of Boonton:

Dick Dale passed away this week
Avatar 4:06pm Beast of Boonton:

@Sid - 'modulus of elasticity' is what you were taught
  4:10pm SHAKIN885:

Harmonica Lewinski!!!
Avatar 4:10pm Sid:

Beast, that's right. I'm an EE, so the structural stuff is peripheral knowledge for me. But is that what the Aussie band is referring to or is it slang for a.... tool of some sort, or something? I dunno.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm dale:

my wife said 'harmonica lewinsky? that's my friend ed repard's band!!'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm dale:

...she was in a little band with him called 'god's pajamas'
Avatar 4:14pm Sid:

...and one would think there's only one Harmonica Lewinsky. Maybe the Paula Trombones? The Tijuanita Broaddrick Brass?
  4:15pm Al:

John Hawken and Jim McCarty were bandmates in the original lineup of Renaissance, along with late Yardbird Keith Relf. This was before Annie Haslam was in the band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm fred:

I apologize for my earlier comment. I was wrong and out of place. Sorry
Avatar 4:17pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Uh-oh fred!...does this garage have a naughtystep??...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm dale:

al - i have those albums, when they were called renaissance and then when they changed the name to illusion. some good moments. but keith's sister jane joined as vocalist and i thought her voice was horrible. none of the players from the second iteration were in the first.
Avatar 4:19pm Sid:

Not at all, fred. All observations welcome. Though I'm pretty sure politics will get you in the hotseat.
  4:19pm Al:

@Dale - I don't think the second one was ever released in the US.
Avatar 4:21pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I Vote against the fredXit.
Avatar 4:22pm Sid:

If I remember correctly, Hawken recruited John Camp and other members of Renaissance II before playing with Illusion and then Strawbs. I see from allmusic that Hawken played piano on Meet The Smithereens!
  4:22pm Al:

Hawken is a fabulous keyboard player.
Avatar 4:23pm Sid:

Frexit! Good Lord, that escalated quickly. :)
  4:23pm John from Florham Park:

@Sid around the presidential election this is going to be my refuge from the insanity
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm dale:

i might have gotten the illusion albums as canadian imports from a buffalo ny shop called record theater.
  4:24pm John from Florham Park:

Afternoon dale
Avatar 4:24pm Sid:

John, yeah. Just stay away from Todd's show.
  4:26pm John from Florham Park:

@Sid why should I stay away from Todd’s show?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm fred:

@RRN63: I'm not going anywhere, I'll just try to think before saying something stupid. Tall order, I know
Avatar 4:27pm Sid:

I got the second Renaissance I LP, Illusion, as an import (at Princeton Record Exchange). I think the first domestic release was CD.
Avatar 4:28pm Sid:

John, Todd tends to get political around election time. Apparently he can't help himself. Great show the rest of the year.
  4:28pm John from Florham Park:

@Fred we all say something stupid on here, as long as you don’t act like a troll I have no problem with you
  4:29pm ?:

"Yod Crewzy and The Fixers" band name in the novel ENDERBY by Anthony Burgess 1963!
  4:30pm John from Florham Park:

@Sid gotcha if Todd dies will just turn his show off and wait until the next show not going to be upset about it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm dale:

gary lewis and the playboys did his too i think.
Avatar 4:31pm Sid:

I don't think there was anything wrong with the age comment at all. From my male point of view, anyway.
Avatar 4:31pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

In FreeForm - expect probly anything but Moderates...
  4:32pm Al:

A few weeks ago a big topic was ringing in the ears!
Avatar 4:33pm Sid:

Tinnitus. Still hear. I mean 'here'. A true variety chat box.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm fred:

@John from Florham Park: I'm already banned from Todd's show, so it's not like I was blameless there
Avatar 4:36pm Mailman Tom:

I saw Renaissance perform at the Fillmore East back in February 1970. They opened for Savoy Brown and the Voices of East Harlem.
Avatar 4:36pm Sid:

Yikes. How do you get banned from a show?
  4:37pm John from Florham Park:

@Fred how can anyone ban you from their show? Not being a smartass jut wondering
Avatar 4:39pm Sid:

Tatoo Covered Hag? I feel like I have to stand up now for some reason.....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm fred:

@Sid: Being a dumb asshole does that
@John: It's not an official ban, just shame, enforced if I show up, so I'd rather not. I earned it
  4:41pm John from Florham Park:

@fred you would rather not start a chat war with TOPT I understand completely
  4:43pm John from Florham Park:

GO YANKEES
Avatar 4:43pm Sid:

Fred, you could always change your screen name for Todd's show. An alter-ego clandestine screen presence. "Frank" maybe.
  4:44pm John from Florham Park:

@SId that’s an idea
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm dale:

kings and queens by renaissance is good and this vid is great

www.youtube.com...
Avatar 4:47pm Sid:

How was Renaissance I, Tom? I've been fortunate enough to see Renaissance II several times (once at Radio City). And when I lived near Philly, Annie & several iterations of Renaissance played frequently as she lives in New Hope PA.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm fred:

@Sid: Nah, I earned it, so I'll have to own up to it. I draw the line where his fans hassle me on other shows though. It's been like four years already
Avatar 4:50pm Sid:

Fred, 4 years is way past the statute of limitations for a message board offense. It's in the official internet rule book! :)
  4:51pm John from Florham Park:

@fred have not seen anyone hassle you on shows at all
  4:52pm John from Florham Park:

@Sid I agree
  4:53pm kev:

Nightcrawlers!!!
  4:53pm John from Florham Park:

@fred there is wake and bake they are a pretty friendly bunch on there
Avatar 4:54pm Mailman Tom:

Sid: I went there to see Savoy Brown and Renaissance happened to be on the bill. Renaissance was okay, but not my cup of tea.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm dale:

rennaisance with annie was my first 'real' concert in 75. her in a sheer long white gown with a spotlight low behind her was the stuff of wet dreams.
  4:59pm kev:

Music Machine!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm fred:

@John from Florham Park: It's rare, and I leave when it happens. I did contact a DJ about it once. But, again, I'm the one to blame there. I didn't have to be an asshole in the first place. Todd's crew has a point
  5:01pm Al:

Great show Bill. Thanks!
