	9:30am Magda: I did the neti pot for 3 days. It helped with some over the counter alergy meds. At this point I'll consider them performance enhancers...considering that sinus headaches cripple me.

	9:34am Phillippe Bastille: If you do the neti pot make sure you use distilled water or boil your tap water first. Otherwise you could be lining your sinuses with germs. not a germaphobe here, but someone recently died from using a neti pot. www.usatoday.com...

	9:40am Roberto: That death-by-neti story seems like a case of extraordinarily bad luck. But yes, it's best to use some kind of nasal rinse solution. I'm not sure boiling is indicated if a solution is used.

	9:43am Phillippe Bastille: @Magda I doubt it. Adding salt is always needed to help dry things out, so I'm guessing almost everyone uses it. My wife has been giving me grief about not boiling the water first because we are on a well.

The allergies come and go anyway, so it could be coincidence. But this is my favorite kind of questionable home remedy, since it involves gobbling up delicious sweet stuff. Highland Valley Apiaries (PA) honey at NYC-area Trader Joe's locations -- yum.

	9:47am Roberto: I had major sinus episodes on and off for about 8 months until a couple of months ago. My doctor thought I might have become allergic to my kitties. To be sure, I've been applying them directly to my face every day for the past two months.

	9:47am Magda: The neti pot is like a wash for your sinuses. I noticed since running, it has helped me to toughen my sinuses. Who would have thunk it....actually going outside and exposing yourself to the elements will help you battle against pollen.

	10:05am Diezel Tea: When I was vegan I lost all of my allergies after a while (except for food allergies.) Since I began eating meat and dairy they came back. Food for thought, as it were. It's a personal trade off though, as if I avoid animal protein I lose a lot of muscle mass (not that I have too much to begin with) regardless of how much I work out and how much vegetable protein I'm to throw down my gullet.

	10:05am Diezel Tea: When I was vegan I lost all of my allergies after a while (except for food allergies.) Since I began eating meat and dairy they came back. Food for thought, as it were. It's a personal trade off though, as if I avoid animal protein I lose a lot of muscle mass (not that I have too much to begin with) regardless of how much I work out and how much vegetable protein I'm to throw down my gullet.
