I’ve been reading Sylvester’s biography and learned that a teenaged Sylvester used to attend house parties at Etta James’ Los Angeles home in the mid-1960s, along with a troupe of trans kids named the Disquotays. The parties sound pretty epic, as you may have guessed.

Shelia, I love your show SO much! Because, I couldn't tell you how much amazing music my ex-girlfriend has turned me on to... everything from Tori Amos, Bjork, & Lamb... to Rufus Wainwright, Leonard Cohen, & Johnny Cash (yeah, at the time, I wasn't listening to Cash). Hey Sheila & Boomers!! I'm a week late with this post. I was listening last week but we've had some gorgeous days up here in Maine, the ground is finally soft enough and I couldn't pull myself away from working in the garden while listening to the show. But I did want to chime in re: community. As someone who's been in recovery (two years this month on 4/20 haha!) I've identified community as my higher power. It's not as ephemeral as god obviously & I feel real power from the communities to which I belong, this one included! So I guess that's all really. I love this station & this community. I also get to share so much of it with my daughter with Double Dip Recess which we LOVE!

hey, Phillippe, CBD oil isn't well regulated at the moment. so, it may or may not contain very small amounts of THC, which could show on a drug test. it could also contain other stuff you don't want anyway. if you get a quality, trusted, 100% CBD oil. it shouldn't contain any THC. however, finding a trusted source may prove difficult.

One is full spectrum, so I'm guessing there's some THC in there, just not sure if its enough to hit the testing threshold. I'm not certain, but I think Weyes Blood openned for Father John Misty in St Louis a few years ago. I have to say I really didn't like them. Felt a bit like symphonic rock and way too earnest. Also no energy. I hung out in the lobby while their set finished.

@John, if you don't like Lynch it won't jive with you. I only watched it for the first time a year ago, since I was not alive when it was on T.V. The orignal series has some parts that are just wonky even for Lynch (no spoilers but a certain romance plot in season 2 almost made me drop it) but I love it, and the 3rd season is perfect, made the show my favorite television series of all time. Its really ambitious. You should get the movie in there too if you decide to do the watching. But, again, if you don't like Lynch I don't think Twin Peaks is the thing that will win you over to his antics/imagery etc.

I watched the film after watching season 3, and it was great, I always wonder how it would be if it played out as he planned (though I think that sometimes about the original seasons too). My family watched it in the proper order and they also loved it, I imagine your perspective on it changes radically depending on how/where you are watching it in relation to the series.

Itzall Ablurr: Lynch productions have a holographic effect in the brain, and seem to reveal new layers every time they are experienced. I have seen "Blue Velvet" (in cinemas) more times than i can count and it's been a totally different experience every time. Once i laughed through the whole thing, once i cried through the whole thing. And no CBD or THC or LSD any such substance was involved.

Mulholland Dr. Is his masterpiece and around the 3rd viewing it made perfect sense. (I also read a LOT about it on an online forum). Every bit of it has some meaning. Lynch plays coy on the "dream" theory though. It's also the Rosetta Stone for understanding Lost Highway.
