Hello Hookers. Apropos of nothing, the Doug Gillard is one of the best show intros ever on WFMU (objectively speaking)

I started to watch Unicorn Store, but it was late. Must choose an earlier time of day to watch the whole thing.
Avatar 12:17pm

Wait... What?
If nobody's watching the unicorn store, there's sure to be a unicorn stampede!

"Unicorn Stampede" would be a good name for a band. I'm just saying.

wow, great cover! The Unicorn Store was silly and mostly lighthearted. which is nice sometimes. I enjoyed it.

Goyim in the AM:

Huey Lewis & the News are kinda like Asia in that the members pre-band resumes would have you expecting a hell of a lot more interesting stuff -- so I suppose it makes sense that that song works in a non-cheesy non-ironic way in the right setting.
Avatar 12:22pm
Lixiviated Life:

Unfortunately,
"Unicorn Stampede" would likely consist of 1 horn
(ok, and maybe a tambourine)

Roger's mispronouncing "strom"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49pm

Wowza, haven't heard this since MTV played videos. I think this is where Roger is running in a loin cloth along a highway. Maybe it's the acid talking.

  12:52pm
Rick A.:

I will add my voice to the wonderment of hearing this song for the first time in over thirty years. I never thought I would hear it on WFMU. Still, for all of the sturm und drang of it, it's irresistibly melodic. Dig this solo bridge too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm
Hughie Considine:

Great story quoted in the 33 1/3 book on Big Star's "Radio City." Alex Chilton and his bandmates repair to a bar after a concert, and Alex is sitting on his own drinking a beer and "The Logical Song" comes on the jukebox. And Alex starts singing along, drumming along, totally passionately and unironically. I love that story.
  12:55pm
Rick A.:

Now we need to hear Tommy Shaw's "Girls with Guns" to complete the contemporaneous solo project of a renegade from a prog rock band.
