I play music that is old and that is new. Some of it is digital while some is analog. It is from many different countries; sometimes it is loud and at other times it is quiet.

I got my second batch of booking tickets for next year done today. Which brings me to 42 dance shows, and 7 music ones, 6 of the latter on Saturdays, sadly (mostly Indian music, but also a sankyoku performance)

@fred In a way it's too bad they don't give you paper tickets these days - you could have made a huge, HUGE scrap books of tickets which would be like a history book of some kind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm
fred:

@tmoyo: I'd love to see Zazen Boys, but they don't seem to tour much over here. But I managed to beg a ticket to a sold out Matmos show two weeks from now, so I can't complain (and I hope to see Daniel Menche next month too)

It's okay to eat moldy blueberries, right? And agreed about Dome.
Avatar 12:30pm

@rw depends on what the threshold of "okay" is?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm

@Mayuko: I do get paper tickets for most of these shows (and print ones for the rest) because I don't have a phone. I think I'll have to get one soon though, it's getting harder to get away with not having one

Joe, I'm trying to pick around the bad ones.

But since Ideologic Organ often has shows at my fave venue, maybe I'll see Kukangendai again in the nearish future

@rw: Like my book and records and T-shirts, they're "organized" in piles (I don't have much in the way of furniture, I unhinge a door when I need a table)
Avatar 12:42pm
Mayuko:

@fred Ha! Think you should do something with that pile of tickets if you haven't done yet!

Kukangendai apparently collaborated with Ryuichi Sakamoto last year or so.
I think I forgot to comment last week but I was thinking that the harpsichord guy was more of a fun of Ryuichi made perfect sense. since most of Ryuichi's track really sound like they were composed by a keyboard player / pianist no matter what instrument he's employing.

I was going through a rough passage 3.5 years ago. I friend of mine, who I thought had everything, a brilliant musician/artist who had both careers taking off. He had a 6 figure job, and beautiful wife (who was in punk/no wave band). He tiredlessly promoted her band and loved her. Then she hurt him (emotionally). He asked me to go out one weekend, but I didn't want to spend money after NYE. I had a plan to end myself, and the next morning I got the news he used his own agency to decide his fate. The shock, and reaction I and my friends had, and the guilt I had from not going out w/ him that night shook me out of my funk. Still miss the lad.

This has indeed fantastic way of spending the final days of my 30's! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to be here with me and have all this conversations. And yes it is pretty amazing to see how so many people have stories! They all need to be unleashed like a balloon!!!

Went out Saturday afternoon so Sunday morning opening this while I do housework. Glanced at the comments before starting to listen. Ended up reading thoroughly to connect all the threads. Have many thoughts about adding to the comments but have decided to wait until finished listening. Happy birthday Mayuko! And happy happy to all who can survive.
