But the academic/formal approach is weirdly refreshing, coming from someone who was part of the local scene even before starting her research. And many in the noise scene are not foreign to academy or music theory. I'm only 5% through, but the defense was fun: academics on the left, noise show regulars on the right (70/30 ratio), with a musicologist dissecting "A Cunt like you". Weird to see these people in daylight, but we take community and support seriously
