dealing with cow pies out in the pasture, is Dale.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm
dale:

did someone say 'pie?'
  7:25pm
sim:

A question. If a virtual existence is possible, as in *The Matrix*, where anything one can imagine can be instantiated, would such a world be ethically better than our own world in real life?
Avatar 7:25pm
Linda Lee:

wasn't that you?
Avatar 7:26pm
Buddha of Suburbia:

Sim...you just made my brain feel like jello that's not ready.
Avatar 7:26pm
Linda Lee:

it seems to be about who's imagination we're working with, sim.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm
dale:

sim - think of all the horrors and grief one can imagine though - how would that be ethically better when we can't control our own minds?
Avatar 7:32pm
Linda Lee:

Whitman offers advice for living: ".. take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families .." this is what i think of when Hearty names himself 'fool'.
  7:32pm
sim:

However, as it's all virtual, any cruelty or perversion would be a simulation. A canvas for the imagination can depict any picture.
Avatar 7:34pm
Linda Lee:

the problem is subjecivity to the confusion of the virtual & the actual.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm
dale:

linda lee - i ascribe to whitman. his sampler is delicious.
  7:34pm
sim:

I do like Whitman's introduction to *Leaves of Grass*, also.
Avatar 7:34pm
Linda Lee:

it sure is! :-D

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35pm

Avatar 7:35pm

LOL Dale!

spodiodi:

we don't even know what the place is!
Avatar 7:37pm
Linda Lee:

today someone i've never met told me: "people like you make me sick." that's fatal confusion!
  7:38pm
sim:

The soul needs other souls. Not reflections of ourselves, but others who we recognize are not unalike.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm
dale:

linda - what the?
  7:39pm
sim:

Jonah beats Noah because he is in the belly of a whale when come Noah's Flood.
Avatar 7:40pm
Linda Lee:

isn't it pathetic?
facebook. you know.
  7:40pm
sim:

Noah beats Moses because he can flood the dry land between the parted river.
  7:42pm
sim:

Moses beats Jonah because he can part the waters from underneath the whale.

Avatar 7:49pm
Linda Lee:

someone i've known for 30 years or so is interested in a prefab tiny home. i thought i'd share some information on expenses that have to be figured in when planning a building project. someone i don't know from Adam's ghost was offended by that, since tiny homes really just pop up all by themselves like mushrooms.
  7:51pm
sim:

A confession. I purposefully stand on the edges of cliffs and tall buildings and the like...
Avatar 7:51pm
Linda Lee:

the free-floating aggression out there is just appalling.
  7:52pm
sim:

In an infinite multiverse, there are an infinite number of me that fall off the edge...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm
dale:

a friend's daughter was looking into a 'tiny home' and it was $60,000 just on wheels with no property. i thought that was outrageous.
Avatar 7:52pm
Linda Lee:

whatever it takes to be sure of where we stand, sim..
Avatar 7:52pm
Buddha of Suburbia:

That's crazy talk.
Avatar 7:53pm
Buddha of Suburbia:

That was for Dale..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53pm
melinda:

Linda I'd never guess that the comment you mentioned earlier was in the context of a tiny house thread. How ridiculous. People really let their shit fly when they're not face to face.
Avatar 7:53pm
Linda Lee:

wow.. that's just the building?
  7:53pm
sim:

When I come back from the edge, I revel at being a survivor of this infinite pruning...
  7:54pm
sim:

And savor life all the more.
Avatar 7:54pm
Linda Lee:

@melinda ~ indeed. i told them to stop being ridiculous.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm
melinda:

It's social media poo flinging.
Avatar 7:54pm
Buddha of Suburbia:

Melinda! LOL! You're always so polite and humble..and tonight you're all "...people really let their shit fly..." I love u.
Avatar 7:55pm
Linda Lee:

right. real absurdity.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm
dale:

yeah - although they do is build a shed with loft on a dual axle trailer. not 60 grand worth of anything in that.
  7:56pm
sim:

Hmmm, I wonder if there's a market for prefab DIY tiny homes. Like a post-modern Sears-Roebuck catalog home.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm
dale:

sim - you could also just buy an older travel trailer in good shape for 2 or 3 thousand.
Avatar 7:57pm
Linda Lee:

sim, i understand. i had a similar habit as a young person. then i found heroin & did it that way for a while. now i'm a survivor, though it's not really an impressive thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm
melinda:

@Buddha haha, thanks. I think one can be humble and polite and curse at the same time:)
