Hello, all!

My wife saw today's playlist pic and said: "So, you're doing an all-Japanese-music special?" Ummm, no. Today's theme is safety. Or matches.

In case you're wondering: the track on now ("High Pressure Days") is a cover of a Units song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm
Rich in Washington:

i swear I remember some group doing an acapella version of High Pressure Days sometime in the early 80s. I remember hearing it on the radio. The usual suspects for acapella New Wave covers, The Bobs, didn't do it though. Maybe I hallucinated it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm

Jandek should cover a Units song.

Overheard in a New Seasons:
Clerk: "It's supposed to get HOT this week! I don't even have AC in my car!".
Boojie customer, somewhat sympathetic: "I knew someone in college that didn't have AC".

That is why I asked. I always find it unsettling when I'm there and it's hot.

Cortex samples have been used in a lot of hip hop tracks. Sadly, that has pushed the price of their first LP into the stratosphere. Plus, there are probably a bunch of copies out there with serious groove wear in a few spots.

Years ago a friend was walking down Pacific Ave. in Venice and a record came flying out of the window of a passing car. He picked it up, and it was Pacific Ocean Blue. The car was stopped at a signal, and my friend looked in. It was Dennis Wilson! He said " Hey, you're Dennis, I love your stuff." Dennis sheepishly said "Thanks man," and the car drove away.

there are usually spiders living conspicuously in the bathroom and sometimes the kitchen. always the same species; not threatening at all to me, even when they get lots of food and get fairly large...they're still mostly leg.
but some spiders concern me enough that i kill them. i don't need the further compromise to my immune system caused by arachnid venom; and i can't identify every one.
it's rarely the big ones that scare me though.
