apropos of nothing -- except for the bent-nosed boy, that painting looks a lot like tbe portraits my grandfather made of each of his grandchildren. Only he was colorblind so the portraits were dominated by greens and oranges.

i once was about to through a bicycle into the street that this kid placed squarely on the stoop, where people sat. selfish and aggressive on his part and it wasn't the first time. this guy always wanted a bearhug hello, but i didn't like him.
he came out before i removed his bike.
a year or 2 later i learned that he went to israel and got killed by cops when he pulled a gun on someone.
