@AndrewC, niiiiice nickname for this show. I'm going to call it Bl.&Ob. from now on. Although that gives me strange mental imagery of Jonathan starring in a direct-to-DVD remake of "The Blob". He gets eaten first.

Excited for the Paul Bowles theme. That Dust-Digital set is a beautiful thing to behold.

@Ike the 1988 remake of The Blob is actually pretty darned entertaining. Not sure if Herweg is in it or not :)

Thanks for all the music this morning Jonathan. Really digging the interludes from Bowles as well. I've been going back into the stories of Bowles' associate Mohamed Mrabet much over the past couple of months, and these readings today equally delight. That "Oglon Day" cut was also popping especially well.

Rode the train from Tangier to Fez, summer of 1981. It was during Ramadan and the place got crazy when the bell was rung and the faithful could break their fast.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39am
Luisa24:

The Sahara is a romantic place...and strange things happen there. I crossed it in 1993 and barely made it out alive. The wierd thing is I had decided to bring The Sheltering Sky to read. Like the book, my journey just kept getting worse and worse: Touareg rebels, sand storms, 15 year old military with AK-47's, endless truck breakdowns and flats, stormed by a mass of prisoners in an open air prison...ah but the stars, the music, the landscape...what an adventure! Of a lifetime!
