Avatar 12:34pm Hoboken Jack:

Mike, that was the Union County Fest in 2007 and I was there! Saw the Smithereens and Chuck Berry but had to leave before the Apples as I was attending a wedding.
  12:34pm davefromtoronto:

that would've been ringo's fate as well if they had replaced him
Avatar 12:35pm Hoboken Jack:

Hey Frenchee and HP Ken!
Avatar 12:35pm V Priceless:

Long Island = Bohemian Vendetta
Avatar 12:36pm David Shortell:

Todd played the Doors on his show a couple of Saturdays ago, prompting some interesting listener comments:
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm Bill in W.O.:

A pleasant surprise to hear you today, Mike!
Avatar 12:40pm DonJuanTijuana:

Joe who? Mike, you're killing it!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm tim from champaign:

Helllo!!!! Is this the Detroit/Ann Arbor Frost?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm mcgreivey:

This Frost record is very Movey/ELOy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm tim from champaign:

This is a rippin set!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm TomDash:

Hey Mike - groovy summertime jams! Digging it...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm Hughie Considine:

Great track -- this is before Sting went all Tantric.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

I think at this point the Police were still Stewart's band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Mister Dobalina:

Yeah, this is a cool track...and when I saw the band I had an 'Oh' moment. Keep spin'n those hits.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Hughie Considine:

Pretty sure this single mix is quote a bit punchier than the album's.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

splashing in with a howdy, everyone!
  1:00pm Mr. Palchepo.:

I don’t know. I’ve now heard the Clash and the Police on WFMU recently. Be careful. The cargo shorts of rock n roll.
Avatar 1:01pm SmokinJ:

Everybody's Rockin'! 8-)
  1:02pm prudy:

gimme some strummer!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm Mister Dobalina:

FMU, we even play, 'the cargo shorts of rock & roll'...we just don't care.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...was gonna see Stuart Copeland w/ ' the doors' but I think Densmore scared him off..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm Carmichael:

The Police were punkier in England before they were famous, then they "sold out" after dyeing their hair blond for a bubblegum commercial.
  1:09pm Well...:

Julianna Hatfield announced on Sheilas show that she's working on an album of Police covers.
Avatar 1:09pm Hubig Pie:

The Lambrettas, the scooter-trash of rock and roll.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm tim from champaign:

Thanks for the info on the Frost, Mike. I was not aware of that single.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Carmichael:

Is that the Frost who was in Grand Funk?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Phillippe Bastille:

I did not know the lineage of this band. Thanks Mike!
Avatar 1:18pm David Shortell:

The Brimstones frontman is now singing for the reunited NJ stoner-metal band Solace, who just finished a new album and will play at the Descendants of Crom festival in Pittsburgh this September.
  1:22pm Paul:

“Emotional Rescue” underrated Stones album. Nothing better than “She’s So Cold”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm tim from champaign:

I was not familiar with this song until I heard the New Bomb Turks cover. My Stones albums stopped at It's Only Rock'n'Roll. I've since been creeping up the Stones 70s.
Avatar 1:24pm SmokinJ:

Now we're talkin'...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Carmichael:

My hometown band!
  1:26pm Woo:

Remember hearing that 'the swans they live in the park' line came from Ringo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm Mister Dobalina:

I usually don't wait for the queue either.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm tim from champaign:

Hahaha - I thought this was the new Ex Hex until I looked at the playlist.
Avatar 1:34pm slocker:

  1:35pm mcgreivey:

Fake ID: currently #1 on the WFMU Hit Parade!

I had to order my very own copy from Hozac. I wonder if they'll reissue the other Anemic Boyfriends single?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm tim from champaign:

I went to Anchorage AK in April. I visited a record store and was wishfully hoping to find the Anemic Boyfriends 45 is the cheap bin. Alas, no dice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm Mike Sin:

Folks! Thanks for listening and all the comments!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm Phillippe Bastille:

Mike, this set is absolutely awesome.
  1:42pm b.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Krys O.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Phillippe Bastille:

Hey Tim, my family is going to Anchorage in August (without me, alas). Any places you'd recommend? Thinking food or must-sees, as I'm the only music collector in the family
  1:45pm Sylvia's Mother:

This is getting me through the soul crushing day at work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm WO Town Wick:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm Michael 98145:

Enjoying the ride ♫ thanks!
Avatar 2:10pm northguineahills:

I have an anemic wife, does that count? (I also have Van Willebrandt's Syndrome, [false hemophilia, I don't produce enough proteins that create platelets])
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm tim from champaign:

@Phillippe - yes! Anchorage is actually very cool. For food I'd recommend Snow City Cafe for breakfasts, Pho Lena (the best veggie pho I've ever had), Moose Tooth Pizza and Pub, and Orso for dinner. The Anchorage Museum was quite good with a progressive look at Alaska's history plus great Native art. The great outdoors is spectacular in Alaska so you can't go wrong anywhere.
Avatar 2:32pm David Shortell:

I've never heard "Crawling Up a Hill" before. Am I correct in surmising that Count Yates' "Chimpanzee" is plagiarized from that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Carmichael:

Sounds like the riff from Sufficiently Breathless.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Mike Sin:

Again, thanks to all for listening!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Carmichael:

HA HA! That crappy band in the beginning of The Commitments sang this song (badly).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Phillippe Bastille:

Thanks Tim, I'll pass it along to them! I know they have a flight to a glacier lined up and some fishing as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Parq:

Carmichael is referring to the now-legendary And And And.
  2:47pm johnk77:

best rock set on wfmu
in a while
thanks @mikesin

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Carmichael:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Parq:

"Fookin'", Carm, let's keep true to the old ways.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Krys O.:

Thanks for an awesome show, Mike!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Krys O.:

Aw, man.....Georgie Fame....sigh.
Avatar 2:57pm Hoboken Jack:

Great show, Mike! Thanks again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm tim from champaign:

Yeah, thanks Mike! There were more #1 hits than Michael Shelley can shake a 45 at.
