Happy 4th bitches!
Avatar 3:04pm Sem:

Got no bitch with this tune.
Hiya, Mark, chresti.
Avatar 3:04pm Bas NL:

Hi Mark! Hi chresti, Sem!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm coelacanth∅:

hey Mark and well-rounded freeform people
  3:06pm markr:

This is the remastered version, so I hope you've got good headphones (or better yet, high-end speakers aimed out across the whole neighborhood) for this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm coelacanth∅:

13" laptop
  3:06pm Jan-Willem:

Circle time! That Monday morning feeling :-). Nice to hear you again Mark!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Fuzzy:

Internet back up here just in time!
  3:08pm markr:

Miles whispered instructions...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm coelacanth∅:

(but i've got to get back to work anyway. see yin a bit)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm fleep:

Oh yeah
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm listener Rey:

Cranking up the stereo to 11 as instructed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Guido from Cologne:

hello Mark!
  3:12pm markr:

Hi Guido, Col, friends old and new!
  3:13pm markr:

It always auto-corrects Coel's name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm chresti:

fleep, did ya feel the earthquake?
  3:27pm maestroso:

On the laptop, don't have my password, but digging the Miles!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Yay, Circle Time!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm fleep:

chresti at first I thought I was having a dizzy spell, and then saw the whole room moving. it lasted 2 minutes. you?
  3:34pm markr:

Welcome, Granny! Fleep, glad you're OK!
Avatar 3:36pm djsheilab:

Oh man, this is the new Santana with Buika on vocals. I saw her live at Summerstage on Sunday night. UN-friggin-BELIEVABLE!
  3:37pm markr:

It's a great album, Sheila! She's great, and Carlos is of course always great, but I find him extra-great on this one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

this earthquake? earthquake.usgs.gov...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm chresti:

fleep, yeah, I thought that I was dizzy at first, too
  3:39pm markr:

Looks like there might be some aftershocks, but the initial quake happened in kind of a remote area, so that's good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm chresti:

That's the one @Granny. It looks like it's a pretty active area, clusters, I guess
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

yeah, it's rockin and rollin out there!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm chresti:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm chresti:

@markr- my first concern was whether it was a foreshock or aftershock
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm chresti:

Did you feel anything, Granny?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm northguineahills:

New Plaid!
  3:58pm maestroso:

I'd be star-clicking on lots of stuff here if I could sign in. PW doesn't work, reset doesn't work. So it's arithmetic questions for the time being. Great music, Mark R!
  3:59pm Smilty69:

Nice Circle Time! Thanks Mark R.! Happy 4th, everybody!
  4:01pm markr:

I'll up my score by one click Maestroso. I appreciate the sentiments.
  4:05pm northguineahills:

Had lightning strike my front yard, and the trees lost half of their leaves (and I lost power).
  4:07pm northguineahills:

The flash was blinding.... looks like no lasting damage, just a large branch.
  4:07pm markr:

I like this Wolfmanhattan track but the mastering is loon-tunes, full-on needles-in-the-red distortion. Jesus!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm northguineahills:

ok, power back on, thankfully it missed the power lines.
  4:14pm Carmichael:

Heya Mark and all. Taking a break from prep for tonight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm listener 126464:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm maestroso:

Hmm. Sign-in works from my studio computer but not from the laptop out on the deck. Weird. Anyway, great music MarkR!
  4:21pm markr:

Hurry up and go back and click-star all those songs now, dammit! My bonus is based on those clicks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm maestroso:

I'll just go ahead and click-star the entire show.
  4:26pm markr:

See, that's thinking!
  4:35pm maestroso on deck:

@markr: did you have an early morning 3:00 to 6:00am show at some point?
  4:37pm markr:

Yes, for a couple years through the Spring of '18.
  4:39pm maestroso on deck:

Ah. I remember it was a great show to wake up to and drive to work.
  4:40pm markr:

That's EARLY to get up for work!
Avatar 4:44pm Hams:

yeah, buddy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:45pm listener 126464:

Enjoying much thanks Mark
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47pm Smilty69:

@maestreso: my booze cut off is 6:00 PM EST until Stan. Work is wrong!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm maestroso:

@markr yes it is, but I get the benefit of great overnight programming and somewhat light traffic driving.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm chresti:

So it's hot over there?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

chresti: (oops, i duck-duck-goosed out for a bit there.) I felt no earthquake. However, i am on a hill made of solid serpentine, and even when my friends in the avenues are tossed about, i feel earthquakes extremely rarely up here.
  5:06pm SeanG:

hey Mark R., got any XTC lined up?? :-D
  5:10pm XTC:

  5:13pm markr:

I've always found the only way to segue out of XTC was with Jaye P. Morgan from The Match Game.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

who knew? works for me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm listener 126464:

good call
  5:22pm SeanG:

love it!
  5:25pm John from florham park:

Happy fourth fellow listeners
  5:27pm Andres:

I loved it also!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm chresti:

Wasn't JP on the Gong show?
  5:28pm John from florham park:

@Granny glad your ok
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm DMcK:

@chresti Yes! And an unfiltered hot mess in that setting to boot
  5:31pm Leslie:

Hey Mark- I thought I recognized your voice. I’m so glad to hear you on the station of the nation! And I love the music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm David D:

Quick check-in - enjoying the show, Mark!
  5:31pm Carmichael:

Back again. Love that Byrds song.
  5:32pm markr:

I think you're right Chresti. All those drunken celebrity game shows blur together for me. I'm picturing a bar in the center, like the hub of a wheel, and then spokes going out to the different shows--the Gong Show over here, the Match Game over there, Bert Convy's show...and they just drink and stagger from show to show...The Hollywood Squares.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33pm Brian in UK:

Mark, sounds good on this side of the screen.
  5:36pm markr:

Thanks for checking in, everyone--we're in the home stretch now. This piece is actually a good lead-in to Sonika's Indian Ocean Show coming up next. Too bad I've got one more piece that's guaranteed to throw a monkey wrench into that seque! Oh, well, Monkey Wrenches R Us at FMU, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm Franco Twinkie:

Jaye P. Morgan flashing on The Gong Show was a great subversive stunt to get out of a lousy contract.
  5:41pm markr:

Where did it lead to, though? It's not like she got off the Gong Show and then won an Academy Award or something, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm chresti:

The Monkey Wrench Show
  5:42pm markr:

Yeah I'll propose that one, Chresti. Ken would probably say, "How is that different from all your other shows?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Franco Twinkie:

No, It didn't work at all. The point is, she did it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm chresti:

It's a game show, tell him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm chresti:

I think we know people that went on the Gong Show?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm maestroso:

I worked with Jaye P back in the late '80s. She did a comedy/jazz show and was very good. And a really nice lady.
  5:46pm markr:

I always thought she was a talented singer.
  5:48pm SeanG:

i am diggin' this
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

My favorite teacher won "Worst Act" on the Gong Show.
  5:51pm Carmichael:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm Franco Twinkie:

This is better than The Woodstock version.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

did that earthquake start up again!?!?!?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Brian in UK:

Who put the POP into Atlanta?
  5:53pm markr:

Thanks for tuning in everyone, have a fun (yet safe) 4th!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Thanks, Mark, for all the great tunes. And… GOOSE!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm chresti:

Thanks Mark!
  9:14am SoyentMike:

Nice ending. It's dissonance is as appropriate now, as it was back during Vietnam.
