Hi Andrew from Argentina!!!
We are listening with my gf Camilla here and loving your show.
She wants to know when will you work on a deluxe edition of Trafalgar as that is her favorite Bee Gees album!
Cheers!
Ps: we love The Cyrkle and Neil Sedaka.

cometothesunshine:

Hi Javi & Camilla - I would love to work on that Bee Gees record, but I have a feeling that Universal Music Group have no plans to do anything with it. Sorry to say.
  6:08pm
jfmlaugh:

How many of today's songs are from your recent trip?
Avatar 6:09pm
cometothesunshine:

a few - jfm - since Sedaka had strong ties to Australia and made an album there in 1969

Doug in Boston:

Is is true that the Brill Building in NY wasn't actually where it all happened?
Avatar 6:14pm
cometothesunshine:

Doug - there was more than one office that songwriters assembled at.
  6:14pm
Javi & Camilla:

What a coincidence!
I bought the Neil Sedaka Bear Family boxed set and it got stuck at the customs. I will pick it up (after paying the fee) on Wednesday.
Did you work on that box?
Avatar 6:15pm
cometothesunshine:

But 1650 Broadway is hard to beat.
Avatar 6:15pm
cometothesunshine:

I did not work on that box, Javi - but I did use it for a few things on this show.

Calendar Girl was the one Sedaka record that had never worked for me, seeming just a bit too contrived. But that changed fast when I saw the Scopitone film for it on YouTube. Wow, what a production!

I have to leave the chat...but I'll be mobile and listening. 10 songs in and it's spectacular! Thanks Andrew!

Love The Monkees singing Neil!
BTW when are we getting a.3 CD deluxe of Headquarters and Pieces, etc etc from Rhino?
I have all others and they put 99% of the re-releases ever to shame.

I need to look into late 60s Neil releases more.
Avatar 7:02pm
cometothesunshine:

he has fewer than I would like - not albums between 1966-1969. He had a few one off singles in the late 1960's - but mostly demoed things for other artists.

I know it's a long shot but how cool would it be for Bear Family to release Neil's recordings 1967-1980 on a second boxed set?
