The Garifuna people are descendants of Afro-indigenous people from the Caribbean island of St. Vincent who were exiled to Central America. The Garifuna Collective promotes Garifuna culture and language through music and performance. And they're just
a great band.
The Collective is touring north America through October and have a new album, Aban (Stonetree Records) coming out in September. The album's first single, Hamala (video below) is out now.
