Mr Fab:

Greetings, Rev. Otis! I'm wearing my Sunday best. And by that, of course, I mean a snazzy tiki shirt.
Avatar 2:00pm
Otis Fodder:

You may need to refresh the spirit of your player this afternoon brethren.
Avatar 2:01pm
Mr Fab:

Ain't it fun, indeed - A live show on the weekend. Did not even have to refresh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm
Jan Turkenburg:

This show is blessed, no refreshment needed.

Mr Fab:

This collage is amazing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm
Jan Turkenburg:

imagine, the work!
Avatar 2:13pm
Otis Fodder:

Pulled over hundreds of samples from my library and threw them in winamp and hit randomize. Marcy Tigner is our lovely background.
Avatar 2:15pm
Mr Fab:

Wow, do you still have that sample library? Would be great to throw into the Sheena stream.
Avatar 2:17pm
Otis Fodder:

Thousands of spoken bits here for productions. I will share with you private post-show Fab.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm
Jan Turkenburg:

these samples are randomised? Sometimes the sequenze makes perfect sense!
Avatar 2:20pm
Otis Fodder:

Totally random. So many juxtapositions!
Avatar 2:20pm
Otis Fodder:

Loaded up 369 samples in the directory, almost done.

melinda:

Happy to stumble upon this new time slot with Jesus songs! I’m working in a store and might have to keep the volume low so as not to make customers uncomfortable tho.
Avatar 2:56pm
Otis Fodder:

Oh Lordy, in-store with a singing hamster. Hi Melinda, ha ha.
  3:05pm
melinda:

I can crank it as soon as they leave

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm
Jan Turkenburg:

It was the basis of Cracking Eggs
Avatar 3:34pm
Otis Fodder:

Oh yes! I have to pull Cracking Eggs out and play on the show now. I have been meaning to play the 'tributes to 365' you created too.
Avatar 3:34pm
Otis Fodder:

@Jan - I also gave up on album covers. Can add them later. So time consuming.
  3:40pm
Dave In St Albans UK:

Wow Otis. This is a good time slot for me to hear your show live. Hello to all.
Avatar 3:40pm
Mr Fab:

Ralph Carmichael & Kurt Kaiser = rap pioneers!
Avatar 3:41pm
Otis Fodder:

Hey Dave! Great to see you here, outside of Georgy's great Friday show.
  3:43pm
Dave In St Albans UK:

Thanks Otis. The Sheena stream gets better all the time and dominating my WFMU listening of late.
Avatar 3:46pm
Mr Fab:

very happy to hear that, Dave
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm
Jan Turkenburg:

and there's another favorite of mine.
Avatar 4:06pm
Mr Fab:

I found that "It's Getting Late" album in a thrift store. When the liner notes say "A folk-rock oratorio based on the End Times," once must buy, mustn't one?
Avatar 4:07pm
Otis Fodder:

Yes, and I'm sure it was a buck too, yes!
Avatar 4:10pm
Mr Fab:

'twas!

i think i played it when I was a guest DJ on Spacebrother Greg's old show.
Avatar 4:10pm
Otis Fodder:

Love to hear that show, if you have a link, share here.
Avatar 4:12pm
Mr Fab:

I have that Ralph Carmichael Moog album. All instro. I didn't recognize most of the tunes, as they were Carmichael's songs. Nice Moogy take on Handel's Messiah, tho.
Avatar 4:13pm
Otis Fodder:

I need to get that Ralph album again. Purged it on a move years back. I remember it's good!
Avatar 4:18pm
Mr Fab:

Do you have the "Enjoy The Experience" album? "666" is a fun tune that would do well in anyone's folk-rock oratorio based on the End Times.
Avatar 4:21pm
Otis Fodder:

I do! Will pull it out and play.
Avatar 4:22pm
Otis Fodder:

What cut is it Fab? Holding album in my holy hands.
Avatar 4:24pm
Mr Fab:

Ray Torske "666". I have the CD. Maybe you have a dif version?
Avatar 4:24pm
Otis Fodder:

Ah, not on my 2-LP. CD might have bonus tracks, will have to look that up. Cool!
Avatar 4:25pm
Mr Fab:

Oh nooo, why would they leave off that one? The work of Satan, i tells ya!
Avatar 4:30pm
Otis Fodder:

So right... few extras on the CD. I bet there was a bonus download card with my LP but I throw those into the giveaway box here or leave on the bus/metro. www.discogs.com...
Avatar 4:31pm
Otis Fodder:

Thanks Fab for bringing that song up, did not know about the difference/extras. Going to dig into it post-show.

Always liken this Lalo/Curb chorus bits to early Funkadelic. So funky.

Here's our 666 marching music by Lex.
  5:08pm
Charles R. C.:

Cast her/him out!
Avatar 5:14pm
Mr Fab:

Was having to do actual work (the nerve!) so just came back a few minutes ago. How long is this mix?
Avatar 5:15pm
Otis Fodder:

45min, recorded live in 1995. Might cut it early though to fit in Bob Larson and Boyd Rice.
Avatar 5:18pm
Mr Fab:

45 mins! Well, this is a proper C B DeMille biblical epic.
  5:20pm
Dave In St Albans UK:

Mesmerising collage! Where do I find this? Thanks Otis.
Avatar 5:23pm
Otis Fodder:

I can throw it up online post-show if you like. Figure I'll just play the whole thing to keep it intact. I can play Bob Larson vs Boyd Rice next week. :)
  5:28pm
Dave In St Albans UK:

Thumbs up from me. This will mess with my head if I have it on my music player when exploring the temples at Angkor Wat in a couple of weeks time! ;-)
  5:32pm
Chelsea Cypress:

There is no denying the truth!
Avatar 5:35pm
Otis Fodder:

@Dave - Post-Show, the archive for the show will be posted here (last couple shows are always here) to download - strelka.wfmu.org...
  5:46pm
Dave In St Albans UK:

@Otis A download will be done as soon as tonight's excellent show finishes. Appreciate it.
Avatar 5:55pm
Mr Fab:

Was listening to the archives yesterday and you said your final song "Goodbye" was by the Beatles. I'm not familiar with it. I know "Hello Goodbye" and "Goodnight" but not that one.
Avatar 5:56pm
Otis Fodder:

Will be playing in it just under 2min. ;)
  5:58pm
Dave In St Albans UK:

Originally sung by Mary Hopkin. A Beatles protege.
Avatar 6:00pm
Mr Fab:

BLESS you, Otis! Thanks for this great bounty you have given us
  6:00pm
Dave In St Albans UK:

Thank you Otis!
Avatar 6:01pm
