bet Keef just liked the 'Indian' style, GG ~ which wasn't even a single style after all, beyond Hollywood or Madison Ave! hippies picked it up in a kind of solidarity with oppression, even though their knowledge of it was largely superficial.

A week ago today I had to escape from San Francisco because Outside Lands was getting under way in Golden Gate Park. But it wasn't the idea of all the crowds, traffic, and the idea of all those young people getting stoned and having fun - It was that that the best they could do for a headliner was Paul Simon!

GG, great to hear that kids respond to that era. Last Halloween a couple of ten year old girls came to the door and saw a Janis Joplin record on the shelf. One of them said to the other,"ooh, look! Janis Joplin!". They gave us enormous smiles, pre-teen stamp of approval.

the catskills weren't thrust up, geologically. they were hollowed out by receding seas. so you really have amazing acoustics naturally.

having been turned on to the woodstock soundtrack at a young age and diggin' on ten years after, and so many great -even best of artist performances on that record (those...) i still must say i like the version we just heard better.
i think he was just speeding out on it at woodstock, which is cool but it lost some groove.
...in my opinion.

Ah, it was more about her attitude than "that old music". She started to give our pets alternative names because she didn't like the ones we gave them. THATS when we kicked her out. Family politics took over from there.
