	10:04pm Dave in SoDak: At 6'1" 135lbs and 14 yrs old, with no self-esteem whatsoever, I broke off of the wall of flowers and started gettin' busy on the dance floor. Didn't care what people thought - I was inspired and wanted to f'ing DANCE! A few months later word on the street was that I was "a good dancer - no, a really good dancer." Thank you, Santa Esmerelda "Disco Inferno" and pretty much the entire Chic album, for bringing me from total geek to respected musician and actor. And as a guy who ended up going Punk to Power-Pop over the years, I still think it was horrible what happened at that football stadium - burning all that product that so many people worked so hard to make. Dumb-asses.

August 21, 2019: The 11th Annual Evan "Funk" Davies Show Summertime Disco/Dance Party!

Summertime always reminds me of listening to Ken "Spider" Webb and Ricky Ricardo and, of course the Chief Rocker Frankie Crocker on WBLS. So when summer rolls around I start itching to play my favorite records from that era (give or take a few years) -- favorites I loved back then, and new favorites that I never heard back in the day.

In that spirit, I'm excited to bring you the 11th (!!) annual Evan "Funk" Davies Show Disco and/or Dance Party! It's three hours of classic dance and disco jams from the '70s and early '80s, plus some lost shoulda-been-hits that just might become your new faves. Hook up the disco ball, pull the rug back, and tell the downstairs neighbors to go out to the movies (or just invite them up!) and get ready to get up and boogie. That's right!

Disco/dance disclaimer! I'm keeping the lines blurry and using "disco" and "dance" as catch-all terms for my own take on fun dance music from the mid-70s to the early '80s, expanding the boundaries (and sound) of the traditional disco era. Don't @ me!
