A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

glad to help@ tim. are your patrons listening to books or reading them? or both maybe?
Avatar 11:18am
βrian:

I imagine a short stack of volumes used as a pillow. (Listening to books.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18am
tim from champaign:

Both. I'd say a rough estimate is 85% print and 15% audio. I select based on their interests but a few do their own requesting especially if they listen to digital audio (rather than audio on cd).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am

The other big part of my job is actually delivering the books directly to the patrons.

so you are sort of like the book mobile@ time. coool. have you read 'the uncommon reader' by alan bennet? you might love it! it's the imagined life of queen elizabeth as an avid reader. she gets her books from a bookmobile, becomes absorbed in reading and shirks her duties, it's hilarious.

@Gabe. It was a reggae song sung in the vein as they've been made over the past 25 years at least. Fitted well after Tenor Saw (was that pitched a tad fast, btw?). I mean, yeah... chill.
