Trying to locate the issue of Rolling Stone with the Jerry Lee Lewis interview. Can anyone help?
  9:04pm Dave:

What’s the next best?
Avatar 9:04pm Snortley:

The 128k mp3 stream seems to not be working, but the 128k AAC stream seems to be OK.
Swag For Life Member 9:07pm Manana:

Just keep the peanut butter coming, son.

Swag For Life Member 9:12pm Manana:

Uh-oh. Gonna get greasy up in here.
  9:12pm yippie:

Time to get high, grease up and eat peanut butter.
Avatar 9:17pm Mailman Tom:

I'd love to get that robot's voice on my GPS
  9:17pm SeanG:

nope, that's just a mini record fair, the big one is in April
Avatar 9:20pm Mailman Tom:

I heard that Link Wray lost a lung during the Korean War. Maybe that's why he liked playing instrumentals instead of singing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20pm TheNewLexGofer:

@Mailman Tom: I used to have that issue. Crazy, but the only thing I remember of it is the opener:

"I'm the toughest son of a bitch that ever shat out a meat ass."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21pm TheNewLexGofer:

Good evening, Dave!
Avatar 9:22pm Mailman Tom:

That makes me want to find that issue of RS all the more!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24pm mcginniwa:

Backreading the comments out-of-context along with listening to the show is breaking my mind. Plop plop, fizz fizz, down the drain my brain goes
Swag For Life Member 9:25pm Manana:

F’ing love Buzzcocks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm D:

@Mailman Tom: I see that that interview is available online, or was it the hard copy you were after?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm Bootsie:

Link, The Stooges, AND The Buzzcocks? Hells, yeah!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm TheNewLexGofer:

December 13, 1979, Mailman.
Avatar 9:29pm Mailman Tom:

I was after the hard copy. I just found it, but it's too pricey. I didn't know it was available online. Thanks, D!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30pm D:

No worries!
Avatar 🙉 Swag For Life Member 9:31pm Jeff formerly from Rahway:

That Dion Kickin' Child LP is MAGNIFICENT.
  9:33pm JakeGould:

@TheLoneliestMonk: It’s a mini record fair in Monty Hall. Nowhere near as big as the big one. And mainly focused on the records and CDs and such that get donated to the station throughout the years. You can score stuff.
Swag For Life Member 9:35pm Manana:

Wonder if Crisco cures jock itch.

Avatar 9:41pm Johnny S:

Happy Thursday to all you damn dirty apes!
Avatar 9:44pm Mailman Tom:

Did some digging. It's the October 19, 2006 issue of RS that I remembered reading. The interview takes place at the home of Jerry Lee Lewis. His niece has to translate his slurred speech. Pretty darn funny.
  9:46pm Will:

Not sure if this show will pass inspection.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51pm TheNewLexGofer:

Reading a bio, "Jerry Lee Lewis: His Own Story," by Rick Bragg. It's exactly what you'd expect but, for the dollar plus tax I paid for it, pretty good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm TheNewLexGofer:

Dude is out of breath!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm Roger:

Fantastic show, Dave
Avatar 10:06pm TheLoneliestMonk:

@DTS the Kipper Kids are coming?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07pm TheNewLexGofer:

Roger. You out for recess?
Swag For Life Member 10:09pm Manana:

NewLex, NYT hired Stephen King to review that Lewis bio. Weird. Apparently King is in a band. Not a glowing review, and not that well-written. Nice little rabbit hole.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11pm TheNewLexGofer:

@Manana: That's what I thought, too. But, for a buck...
Swag For Life Member 10:18pm Manana:

I am not a King fan. I thought it was weird the NYT would hire him to review anything. But King was having a moment back then.
  10:19pm joshjoshjosh:

Can you play a Duane Eddy song that we’ve never really heard before?
Avatar 10:21pm Joe B:

just back from a VERY casual Thursday in the Forbidden Zone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22pm TheNewLexGofer:

What does King do/play in his band?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23pm Dave the Spazz:

Loinclothes?
Avatar 10:25pm Joe B:

let's just say, the Forbidden Zone was once a paradise ...
Avatar 10:28pm TheLoneliestMonk:

but did you sing the alphabet song and tell off teacher?
Swag For Life Member 10:29pm Manana:

‘Rhythm guitar’ the tagline said. Published December 2014.
  10:30pm PJ:

Jerry Lee Lewis: His Own Story is a fantastic book, one of the best rock bios ever (seriously - it's not just about Jerry Lee, but also the whole milieu of backwoods racist America and the birth of rock and roll.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm TheNewLexGofer:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38pm TheNewLexGofer:

You're right, @PJ, in that Bragg gets what it was like in the hardscrabble South (racism and all) in the Depression-era South.
  10:39pm yippie:

Wiki says he dodged draft by eating soap. Gave him heart palpitations. Way before he was going to join Elizabeth.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm TheNewLexGofer:

"I'm comin' to join ya, honey!"
  10:59pm PJ:

@TheNewLexGofer: And, while it's clear a good part of his drive came from those trucker pills, the other thing that came through was that, whether high or low in his career, Jerry Lee was going to put on a show you wouldn't forget.
  11:00pm PJ:

@TheNewLexGofer: I was also struck by the fact that he couldn't remember most of the women he'd slept with, but he remembered all the fights.
Avatar 11:09pm Scott Cornish:

Chuck Berry & Little Richard at Westbury 10 years ago? I was there too, Dave! Won't ever forget it. Little Richard called me out from the stage, demanding that I raise my voice and SING!
