i first heard Nina's version c.1996 when a woman (12 years my senior and stunningly beautiful) left a mixtape that smelled like patchouli on the counter for me after she paid for her whatever she bought.
for the next few years she'd turn me on to things i'd maybe only now be learning about (via wfmu)
