From the Fanfare review of the Rhodes Moszkowski recording, which never mentions Moszkowski (because most of the program was Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin): "Rhodes is presented as a sort of cool, yet despairing James Dean kind of artist. My kids would call him emo. There are so many photos of him in sunglasses that I thought he might be blind."

And Fanfare in 1996 on this Aldwell Hindemith (which I'm loving): "Right from the opening statement, Aldwell brings great imagination and insight to his performance of Ludus Tonális. One is continually reminded of Bach, but that is perfectly appropriate for this work. Few other performers find so much variety in this music; although Aldwell does not use the work as a springboard for pianistic display, as Richter does, there are moments which show that he has as high a level of digital dexterity."
