This show is dedicated to hella nice WFMU dog OLIVE who has gone to doggie heaven. This show is being engineered by Bronwyn B who will no longer be engineering this show due to her getting a new show on the Drummer stream at this same time - Bronwyn will post info here on comments with all the details on what to expect. ----- This is Part 1 of 4 in the 2019 October Hellraiser Hip-Hop History series - Bay Area first decade of rap records - all 1980's 12" singles from the Bay + highlights from recent Live @ the Oakland BBQ - exclusive WFMU session featuring DJ Marz and BAS-One + Senor Gigio

recorded in 85 and released on vinyl in 1986 - Too $hort (compared to most of the artists I will play today from the Bay Area in the 1980's) is unique in that he had his own style - while most of the otres have distinct (mostly NYC) rap influences
