I didn't know Kim was a dick. Still too bad she died.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I don't want Kim to be a Legend
- I want her to be a living Superstar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Cooh John:

Super show jam packed with fabulosity.
  3:12pm Stuart Rose:

MSL? , Ken. How terrible.
How cruel.

One thing about these lyrics—- Kim really had the good on the mentality of a lot of us guys.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

It makes sense she loved The Kinks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm Dominick:

  3:21pm Bluesman:

Hi TOPT. I never thought in a gazillion years you would be doing this kind of show. I guess you have to, right?

Thanks for bringing us New Yawkers/New Jerziers all those swell Muffs shows and my condolences to all her loved ones!
  3:22pm Richard from Seattle:

Thanks for your moving eulogy of Kim, Todd. It is not just music that makes your show great, but its humanity, and the way you connect with your listeners.

Avatar 3:35pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Cooh John: Sorry that is an incorrect answer. Here's a hint. The guest is French.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 3:35pm JG:

I'm only two chapters into Ms. Harry's book but so far, it's great. Always thought of her as the greatest frontman (frontwoman)? of all time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Clem Burke taking it apart.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 3:41pm JG:

Always kind of saw a more or less straight line (through Chrysalis records) from Jim Morrison to Debbie Harry. is that nuts? And @ Rev Rabbit, Yes Clem Burke is crazy great.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 3:41pm Ken From Hyde Park:

"Dreaming" always hit me as melancholy. Still like it, though.
  3:42pm David Colangelo:

Rush Rush...
  3:42pm Stuart Rose:

Yep, Rev. Burke and Jimmy Destry.

Time hasn’t been unkind to these Stein-Harry songs. Such melodic gems and smart lyrics.

Avatar 5:08pm Fredericks:

Perfect question, Todd. Hint, hint.
Avatar 5:13pm Fredericks:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Amy kinda reminds me of a Punk Emmylou Harris if that's not too goofy to say...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...so much Blues in Hank - the Father of Country
...just sayin'..
Avatar 5:16pm Fredericks:

Avatar 5:18pm Fredericks:

"Whom?"Love it!
  5:21pm tfunk:

These are fantastic interviews Todd. I appreciate how quiet and reserved you seem, allowing the guest to draw out their thoughts. The music is top-notch too
  5:21pm JetBoy of Brooklyn:

How awesome is Johnny Cash. Rhetorical.
Avatar 5:23pm Fredericks:

Johnny Cash was living in New Port Richey before there was a New Port Richey.
  5:23pm vertual:

Thanks for the Hank. I was probably about 7 around 1970.My dad had just a few records. He sat me down and said Hank was the real thing and I remember that mgm records label spinning. Then he got out sinatra. I think that explains why I appreciate so much. Great show Todd.
  5:26pm wildneil peace all:

its great to hear country on here. Top notch stuff.
  5:27pm MFlynn:

Thanks a ton Todd for putting all this together for us. Love Amy Rigby and I’ve been rewatching the “County Music” episodes non stop!

Avatar 5:38pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Thanks everyone, glad you are digging it!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 5:38pm JG:

Watched the Burns Country Music doc beginning to end too
Avatar 5:39pm Fredericks:

I have never forgiven Wynton for the absence of Sun Ra during the Jazz series.
Ken probably doesn't know who he is/was/will be.
  5:41pm JakeGould:

Todd, haven’t watched the Ken Burn’s documentary, but this trio of interviews is great. Also, the renewed interest in county made me spend some time researching the fashion. I utterly never knew that classic country fashion can be traced back to two Jewish immigrants: Nathan (Naftali) Turk versus Nudie Cohn (Nuta Kotlyarenko). www.tabletmag.com...
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 5:42pm JG:

BTW the forthcoming BD bootleg box set due out in a few weeks will feature a lot of the BD and Johnny Cash stuff from the Nashville Skyline album and the Johhny Cash Show. Come to think of it, the dvd collection of the Johnny Cash Show is great investment.
  5:43pm JakeGould:

Two schmata makers who fled persecution in Europe made outfits for strippers and then became country fashion pioneers. That’s America.
  5:44pm George in WOtown:

Pretty darn impressive show, Todd!
Avatar 5:44pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@JakeGould: Ace researching!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 5:44pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Jack. How'd your thing at the library go today? If it weren't eighty miles away, I would've stopped in.
  5:45pm Ignore Function:

What a show today. Well done, Todd.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 5:45pm JG:

I wish I had a Nudie suit
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 5:48pm Corey:

Great show! Thanks, Todd. Pretty damn inspiring radio station today altogether (as usual).
  5:49pm tfunk:

I have forgiven Wynton Marsalis for his “misgiving” in Ken Burns’ “Jazz” lol
  5:50pm P-90:

See: Ken Burns thinks Todd “said it exactly right”
  5:50pm JakeGould:

@Todd: Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Tommy in Neversink:

About the same time as the country "get back to the roots" movement happened the rock" get back to the roots" thing was happening with punk and glam
