the one thing i can say, being a long-time listener and lover of reggae with little knowledge of the details of genres and such, is that (with exceptions of course) most of the best reggae happened long ago and is fanatically religious. (that last phrase redundant?)

hey fred just in case you might take the artists i mentioned as recommendations the gladiators and the wailing souls were a bit all over the place so i couldn't say just any of those. definitely the earlier stuff is better though.
