Listen to this show:
Pop-up player!
The collective of musicians known as Brooklyn Raga Massive (BRM) is the heart of what the New York Times calls “the Raga Renaissance".
BRM's defining event is their annual 24-hour / 70-plus performer Ragas Live marathon concert at Pioneer Works, the innovative arts center in Red Hook, Brooklyn. This year's marathon starts Saturday evening October 19th and ends the following night.
Musicians and BRM Artistic Directors Neel Murgai (pictured with his ensemble featuring several core BRM members, above) and David Ellenbogen (pictured below) join us to talk Raga, Brooklyn-style.
