Matt from New Orleans:

I just finished listening to a recent Gilles Peterson show where Thom Yorke cohosted with him for most of it. That was some challenging radio. I’m exhausted after listening to it. Hopefully, all of the dances will give me a boost before I pass out for the night.

a very significant other and i danced together the first time at a halloween party (mine). i was basically a skeleton and she was basically like a negative image of a skeleton. we did not know about the other's costume until she got to my house.
anyway we were the same height and basically the same build and had about the same length hair and she danced with her arms out away from her body so i imitated her and it was dubbed the skeleton dance. the only dance i know how to do.

Avatar 11:27pm

According to Discogs, Sonny Jones worked with Eddie Bo and both of them released singles under the Scram label in '69 but there's no mention of Sonny's name being a pseudonym. Also, Sonny & Eddie sounded almost alike.
Avatar 11:28pm
Erica:

Never mind the first part, he didn't work with Eddie. I misread that bit.
Avatar 11:29pm
Erica:

Point being. I don't know if Sonny & Eddie were two different people are the same person.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29pm
Funky16Corners:

@Erica - Eddie did a lot of pseudonymous recording during that era. As a guy who's been collecting his 45s for a long time I can almost say with certainty that's Eddie singing on Sissy Walk.

The only thing I can do is take your word for it Larry.

He actually renamed himself the crawfish emperor at his 90th birthday party two years ago because too many people had declared themselves the crawfish king. I went to the party and it was a ton of fun. It was at this 24/7 laundromat/Poboy place called melba’s which is located where seafood city used to be.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41pm

@Matt - I thought you meant the song was a copy of another song, as opposed to actually stolen

It's only a rip off if it's a similar copy of, not if it has a stolen name.
