Matt from New Orleans:

Hey Kris. Made an interesting discovery earlier today. I encountered a tune called Evolution by Magnum a band out of Southern California that recorded one album in 1974.
Avatar 10:04pm
Kris Holmes:

That doesn't ring a bell, is it cool? Rock?

Little Danny:

Heya Kris and NOLA Matt

youtu.be...
That’s a link to the album on YouTube. It’s definitely funk. The song I heard had afrobeat and James brown influences but the vocals were definitely funk.

Which side of that Fabulous Silver Tones 45 did you want to hear again?
Avatar 10:07pm
Kris Holmes:

Sounds interesting Matt
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Worth checking out definitely. It’s expensive on vinyl and there’s a bootleg issue with people trying to pass it off as the original.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm
Matt from New Orleans:

The album. There’s lot of comments on discogs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I haven’t listened to the album yet as I encountered the song while listening to a radio show that ended at 6 and then jumped into my friend Vincent’s show which just ended.

Avatar 10:13pm
Kris Holmes:

The track 'Natural Juices' is one that I think I'd heard comped or on some mix years ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I’m surprised it hasn’t been reissued. Seems like an interesting story from what I read online.

Any immediate faves from the 350 45 lot?
Avatar 10:20pm
Kris Holmes:

Yeah, The Notorious Bandits, pretty sick fuzzed out garage
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I just let out a very loud laugh when you announced your purchase and I’m sure I annoyed my neighbors.
Avatar 10:22pm
Kris Holmes:

It was a terrible lot from a jukebox co. all 80s-early 90s 45s

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23pm

Any hip hop?
Avatar 10:24pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Not the kind I have any interest in?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I’m not sure why I typed a question mark there

Ahhh, thanks for playing this Silver Tones! Was very curious about it...

I didn't clearly hear your description of where you got these records. If not at a "record fair" interesting that vintage vinyl is still not in the hands of collectors and resellers.

Cool. Maceo (assuming Parker) doing a Meters sounding tune.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I was wondering when the sax break was going to happen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm
Little Danny:

Love Wes's A&M records! Bought "The Joker" 45 for the same reasons
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Putting the phone down and will continue listening. Have a great night everyone.

Oh man I love this Inell Young side so much. Wish it worked better as a dancefloor 45, though. Was it in your play-out box?
Avatar 11:38pm
Kris Holmes:

yeah, it works ok for me but i have to bring the bass up a ton since it's such a weird master
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41pm
