Favoriting Cannibal Stew: Playlist from October 17, 2019 Favoriting

ARB swings to the other Belgian Popcorn. Very passionate vocalists, naive orchestrations, irreverent pranks.

What is huautozontle? Besides a branch, of course. Does it come with a sauce?
Avatar 1:09pm
Linda Lee:

hello hello DJ ARB! first time hearing you. fantastic sounds. :-)
Avatar 1:10pm
arb:

It tastes a little like broccoli but you have to scrape the edible green fluff off of the stalky branch with your teeth, no sauce but great with salsa verde

Alina, I was talking to this young chap at the farmers market this past Sunday. Him and his wife were staying in Roma. He showed me pictures on this phone of what looked like a mole poblano. It made me so hungry! I like to make it from scratch, but it's so easy to get a glob out of a bucket at the mercado on First St. In East L.A. I don't even bother any more. Plus, right down the street is Cinco Puntos that has the best corn tortillas - thick as saltillo floor tiles hot off the grill!
Avatar 1:29pm
arb:

@linda steer clear of the Camorreras drink lots of fresh juice and try to find the guy selling fresh oysters right on the little beach there
Avatar 1:30pm
arb:

thanks for the tips I've been looking for the best tortillas in LA and I haven't found them yet
Avatar 1:31pm
Linda Lee:

i'm sorry, what are the camorerras?
Avatar 1:32pm
arb:

what's the mercado with the mole called?
Avatar 1:33pm
Linda Lee:

i'm reading stewards, waitresses .. do you mean the guides?
Avatar 1:34pm
arb:

@linda lee hustlers, banditos, guys looking for trouble... I watched Eisenstein In Guanajuato yesterday (it's fantastic by the way) and there's some camorerra characters up to no good but i don't think you'll have any problems with them
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm
Franco Twinkie:

Cinco Puntos is on Cesar Chavez and Lorena, right across the street from the grave yard. It's closed on Weds.
Avatar 1:36pm
arb:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm
Franco Twinkie:

Alina, from Cinco Puntos just head south on Lorena and make a left into the parking lot before you hit First. I heard a rumor it might close. El Mercado is the name as far as I know.
