	♥ 5:24pm Rich in Washington: yeah. The stories all involved and were geared towards preteens, which is when I read it. They're really well-written. I just remember the stories really leaving an impression on me. They're also not shy to lean towards the occult, in a way that I think a book for young readers wouldn't be nowadays.

	♥ 5:25pm Rich in Washington: one of the nice things about my mom running a bookstore as a kid was that we always had interesting books in the house.
	♥ 5:26pm Rich in Washington: I also learned how to read paperback books carefully so the spine wasn't cracked, so we could preview books before they hit the shelves.
	♥ 5:26pm DJ GeorgyGirl: Here's the film I got: The Snow Leopard with One Red Eye Directed by Nanni Nonni A dancer finds a human torso which has been hacked up in the style of a killer who has been dead for many years. Her friend investigates the crime; and after decoding entries in a hidden journal, she discovers that the presumed victim, the dancer, has faked the entire crime... and is now desperate to make sure the truth stays hidden.

	5:40pm melinda: I’ve never been to a bookstore than had both old books and coffee, sounds wonderful. I have happy memories of Half-Priced Books stores and their old book aroma. I think employees took smoking breaks in the can because it always smelled of it, but even that I remember somewhat fondly.

	♥ 5:43pm Rich in Washington: @melinda: If you're ever in Portland, I recommend visiting Powell's. It's become a tourist destination, but there's something about sitting in their cafe after perusing the endless, labyrinthian aisles of books that for me is a real Portland experience.

I just remember the stories really leaving an impression on me. They're also not shy to lean towards the occult, in a way that I think a book for young readers wouldn't be nowadays.

	♥ 5:25pm Rich in Washington: one of the nice things about my mom running a bookstore as a kid was that we always had interesting books in the house.
	♥ 5:26pm Rich in Washington: I also learned how to read paperback books carefully so the spine wasn't cracked, so we could preview books before they hit the shelves.
	♥ 5:26pm DJ GeorgyGirl: Here's the film I got: The Snow Leopard with One Red Eye Directed by Nanni Nonni A dancer finds a human torso which has been hacked up in the style of a killer who has been dead for many years. Her friend investigates the crime; and after decoding entries in a hidden journal, she discovers that the presumed victim, the dancer, has faked the entire crime... and is now desperate to make sure the truth stays hidden.

I think employees took smoking breaks in the can because it always smelled of it, but even that I remember somewhat fondly.
