Therese, My recent listening choices have been influenced slightly by Ken Burns' newly released doc on Country music. How about you? Lefty Frizzell makes me think perhaps, but you do have a broad palette, so perhaps not.

People used to compare the singer of the Pink Dots to Pink Floyd (this was before I knew anything), so I played some LPD for a PF fan. She said "Ew, that sounds like the early stuff," so I knew I had to take a listen.

Damn(ed)! Lining them up and knocking them down! This came out a year or two after I had gotten into The Damned, and it holds a special place in my heart. I built a tree-house in upstate New York as a lad with this and The Top by The Cure as the soundtrack. Ahh...youth! And now Creeping Death...nice.

Avatar 7:35pm
Ignatatus666:

@Tome
Ride the lightning was a Masterpiece. I agree. The Creeping Death 12” broke it down simply. Actually was released prior to the LP. I had it on a Picture Disc. We didn’t have the luxury of Seton Hall in our area due to a weak signal. We depended on record covers that looked cool as well as fanzines like MetalHammer and Kerrang.
