Sold out, comparatively tiny venue. It should be interesting.

Hey Creamo, listening at the shop - this speed punk goes great with a chilled Beaujolais!

Nice, Chris, enjoy! I'd like to see them again - see what's different/same after 17 years

I booked Foster Care the shittiest show ever in Fort Worth, TX back in 2015, if I remember correctly... I still feel so bad about it, they rocked so fucking hard and were the nicest folks.

What was the song after Red Aunts?
Avatar 3:30pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Admittedly, having fun with my accidental ignorance of Wolf Eyes. I know their name is pop-group famous but I've never heard the stuff.

I'm sure it's great, but we'll see how long this streak goes...

Speaking of zigging when one expects a zag, Wolf Eyes put out a tape with a graphic of a wolf's (or maybe just a dog) mouth. www.discogs.com...

When I returned from Antarctica the first time, I caught a Peter Jefferies/Mecca Normal show at Dux Deluxe in Christchurch. Cool to hear a Chch flavored couple songs.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm

I had done sound for Mecca Normal at the Capital Theater backstage in Olympia, WA prior to that. So catching them by coincidence in New Zealand was super cool and super weird.

EVEN THIS SAX BREAK CAN'T RUIN THIS SONG
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm
mcginniwa:

@tim first time down I was working for the company that had logistics contract at the time. Generally you take a shit job your first time down. I was a janitor. After you go down, you meet everyone, and you can sniff around the various departments and figure out who is hiring for a better gig. I was Fuels Operator (fueling planes, helicopters, refueling fuel depots, etc.) 2nd time down for summer season, then wintered over in waste management. So my schtick is that I was a janitor, gas station attendant, and garbage man on the Ice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm
mcginniwa:

@tim the trick is to get a reference from someone who has been down before. It's been 20+ years, so I'm not really any good on that front.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm
tim from champaign (now washington):

Did you dig it? Were you able to explore?
Avatar 4:29pm
Chris from DC:

Did you run into Henry Kaiser?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm
tim from champaign (now washington):

Thanks for the info, mcginniwa.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm
mcginniwa:

Yes and I did some volunteer field work with scientists while a janitor and then as a fuelie I went out in the field a bunch more. It's amazing...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm
mcginniwa:

However the US program at the time was pretty wasteful and harmful to the place.

I've heard about a store down there that's maybe on the 2nd floor in one of those mall-type buildings. Could be a different one.
Avatar 5:06pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

nae, not DMG. What Creamo said. 2nd floor of an anonymous mall thing; upstairs is artist spaces & the record shop. You could walk by the entrance a million times & never know it's in there..

If you buy that book from Amazon, doesn't that kind of kill your crust points automatically?
