Musical theater from off the beaten path. Obscure and unusual show tunes from within the canon and without, flops, failures, and the newest works from up-and-coming artists—plus tried-and-true hits. Also, occasional appearances from songs that are not show tunes (but only if they go really well with show tunes).

I was waiting for Acid Jazz Hands to start so I would know it is 7PM and time to clock off from work. Then looked at the clock and seeing it was after 7 and still hearing the GTD stream continue I wondered if I was mixed up about time zones. All good now.

Hello, Bronwyn! Greetings, acid jazzers!

Rupert Holmes came to see my daughter's high school presentation of Drood, and spoke to the cast (he loved it).

Avatar 7:48pm

I love Alan Ayckbourn, but I never saw/heard By Jeeves, because I so love Wodehouse, and I can't tolerate any violence to Jeeves and Wooster. For instance, I really like Stephen Fry, but his take on Jeeves was so wrong.... sigh. Well, eventually I'll have to hear By Jeeves, just to see
Avatar 7:48pm

Hi Doug and Mom!!!!!

PG Wodehouse, as you probably know, besides the Jeeves & Wooster stories, was also a prolific writer of Broadway musicals, but way early, before Showboat and Oklahoma (in other words, pre-modern musical), so they don't get revived at all. I want to hear them!
Avatar 8:07pm
NoBucks:

I would love to hear them.
Avatar 8:17pm
Bronwyn Bishop:

he cowrote the original book for anything goes!

i should play more anything goes, nothing beats the melody of the title song

I realize it has been a mistake for me to look past the Weill/ Anderson works vs. the ones with Brecht.
Avatar 8:44pm
Bronwyn Bishop:

weill was always great!! he probably even could have written great musicals with like, don black
Avatar 8:46pm

now of course he's been reincarnated and collaborates with courtney barnett

this song is bringing us into slight overtime which means you all get overtime pay just like the original cast of les miserables
Avatar 9:01pm
