Toward the end of my time in Champaign I got to know a few guys who were in bands that were part of the Vertebrats scene. There was a comp of all those bands called 'Stabs in the Dark'. I only saw it once or twice. www.discogs.com...

Of course this would be polarizing. As a 39-year-old who has a nine-year-old that loves pop radio, I most certainly hear the pop influence leaking in a way that it never has before. I feel like the lyrics still ring with a lot of the issues the band is covered for years, so I don’t mind the pop influence and sound. However, I would not have said that I’ve been a die hard Devoted fan
