	♥ 9:38pm coelacanth∅))): the stickyweb has made it easier to find buyers for your records, and made the going prices plummet. i bought x-ray spex' first (only?) album for 5 bucks c.1978, put it on cassette immediately and never played the record again. i saw it for $100.00 a couple of years later in a store. now it starts at $2.99 at discogs.

I thought SCORE! until I googled it and found out it isn't worth anything. But it is a great record! So it brings up the eternal question - why do I collected records anyway? future investment or pleasure in the present?

	♥ 10:35pm coelacanth∅))): Franco i love records as much as ever but between money and space limitations i'd be a fool to buy even 1/100th of what i want. i use streaming services that play full albums and often record them to a hard copy (usually a cd...i don't think it's called uploading OR downloading in this case. recording in "real time" through analogue equipment) i know it doesn't compare to vinyl but i pay for the higher quality and it's reasonable...and affordable.

Chresti and Sean, her son, showed up with this other turntable which sounded fine for awhile - until it didn't. Then the clutter started....It's a story of dysfunction on my part. Well, the solution was to put a new sound system in my truck because I have a ton of CD's. Is it starting to make sense?

(less to go wrong) i used the shit out of that beauty; so much so that the spindle wore down and didn't hold records centered any more. i got my hands on another, similar model, that worked fine except the tonearm was messed up. turned out the parts were not interchangeable. this right when cds took over and dual stopped making parts for the turntables. killed me but i threw both of 'em out.

Well, the solution was to put a new sound system in my truck because I have a ton of CD's. Is it starting to make sense?

(less to go wrong) i used the shit out of that beauty; so much so that the spindle wore down and didn't hold records centered any more. i got my hands on another, similar model, that worked fine except the tonearm was messed up. turned out the parts were not interchangeable. this right when cds took over and dual stopped making parts for the turntables. killed me but i threw both of 'em out.
