Robocop was referencing (buy it for a dollar) a sort of famous science fiction story by C.M. Kornbluth, “The Marching Morons”

I’m disappointed Too.

(“sort of famous” = famous to science fiction fans, unknown to anyone else) (but I bet the writer of Robocop knew it)

ahhhh the marching morons! heard of it but never read it. also inspired "Idiocracy" lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30am
Joe D.:

thanks mark, shoutouts to you and Koncepts
Avatar 5:38am

The concept of “The Marching Morons” is flawed (high birth rates = low intelligence doesn’t work that way), but the writing is awesome. Kornbluth was genuinely great, died in his thirties in (I think) 1959.

luckily intelligence is too complicated to be directly heritable like that!!!! but shoutouts to all the eugenicists who are too dumb to realize & who we are gonna beat up
