I used to go tot The Flintstones theme park in British Columbia every summer when I was a child. It seemed like a wonderland to me at the time, but if you look at photos on Google it looks a bit of a shithole. lol.

Ann-Margrock! I love that silly episode of The Flintstones. She was their babysitter :)
Avatar 5:21pm

a Flinstones theme park? i can't imagine! :-D
plastic rocks & rubber dinosaurs?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm

It was all sort of a papier mache type material. Huge dinosaurs and houses :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:23pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Petula Clark is *wonderful* :-)
Avatar 5:29pm
Linda Lee:

what a funny thing. as a child you think you'll be just like the adults around you. her voice reminds me of how exciting that was. i heard entire scenarios in her voice. in her stories.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Very much so :-) I had very definite ideas of what my adult life would be like - only to get into early adulthood and the entire popular culture landscape had changed completely!
Avatar 5:30pm

absolutely! of course! :-)

geezerette:

Hallo!
Avatar 5:46pm
Linda Lee:

here's the funny thing about our childish imagation. Pet Clark's songs inspired me to imagine certain places very clearly ~ like the figaro cafe, for example! 'downtown' was always about the figaro on macdougal street & a seat by the window. i don't think i'd been there yet, unless i was *very* young ~ or recalling a prior lifetime! when i finally started hanging out there, it felt super familiar. myworldreviews.com...

Avatar 5:53pm
Linda Lee:

did any of them have fun? Georgette maybe..
Avatar 5:53pm

Linda, there was a duplicate Cafe Figaro in L.A. where I once saw an old Davy Jones trying very hard to enchant a much younger girl. Didn't seem to be going well.
Avatar 5:54pm

Oscar Wilde's "Dorian Gray" - the chap who sells his soul to be young and beautiful forever. The pay off is that he has a portrait that ages instead of him and he has to look at it every day to remind himself how lucky he is. :-)
Avatar 6:01pm

yes! i know the story, but i'm having trouble matching it up with Carol Kane.

she's not aging? is that it?

I think I've just figured out why my shows drop occasionally on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Last Wednesday Darryl turned his mobile off and everything settled down. Monday is the only day I don't follow anyone so don't have to set my tablet up to listen for the cue. I think it's the tablet that's interfering.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I mean, it may be a massive coincidence, but worth a try to see if that'll fix things :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm

I moved to NYC to join someone from Winston-Salem that I met on a return visit to Chapel HIll in the early 90s. Life is funny. No it wasn't rural Georgia - that would have been a disaster. Augusta and then the Atlanta suburbs.
