Let your fingers do the dancing.
  9:40am bigplanetnoise:

Not a bourbon guy. Is there a way to make tequila warm?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:40am Doug Schulkind:

OH YEAH OH YEAH!
  9:41am John from Florham park:

@Doug when it is slow on the chats I really don’t like to post too much because I know how it annoys people and the higher ups at WFMU
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41am Doug Schulkind:

Speaking of limitless, here's the man with limitless ears—Funky16Corners!
  9:52am Funky16Corners:

Limitless ears, plus all the beer, wine or sangria you can drink!
Swag For Life Member 9:53am WR:

@BPN: Hot limeade (I prefer unsweetened) , touch of salt and shot (or two) of tequila is a nice warm up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53am Doug Schulkind:

One of my essential tenets: Never drink sangria to excess near white shag carpeting.
  9:54am bigplanetnoise:

@WR - thx. I’m on it. That, and a bowlful of limitless ears.
Swag For Life Member 9:57am WR:

Doug, FYI, Was at Peruvian restaurant recently that featured white sangria. Not a fan of sweet drinks so did not try.
Swag For Life Member 9:58am WR:

Gary has a blog? Have to check that out.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06am coelacanth∅:

WR a place where i live makes sangria. it has minimal alcohol, fresh fruit floating in it and to serve it they mix it with either a white or a rosé, customer's choice. it's not very sweet at all, very refreshing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08am Goyim in the AM:

There is an excellent white sangria recipe in the WFMU cookbook of a few years' back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08am Funky16Corners:

My yearly bbirthday pilgrimage is to a place called Fernandes Steak House in Newark for paealla and sangria. This year's sangria was particularly/unexpectedly strong. A delight, but then so was I for a few hours afterward...
Swag For Life Member 10:11am WR:

Looking back in the comments to see how the morning's chat went from coffee to alcohol and see that again @Doug is the lead instigator.

@Doug - To what extent do you think the feminine quality of Scott's voice held him up from greater success? A beautiful voice, without question, but too weird for the time period? I can't think of anyone similar.
  10:17am bigplanetnoise:

Ah. Vibeful.
Swag For Life Member 10:19am WR:

@Doug, just trying to keep up. Always wondering how I ended up where I am. And chattering way too much. Putting down the keypad and will keep listening as I attempt to be productive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am Doug Schulkind:

Welcome aboard, dutchtheo! Stream Daddy fleep! Shaun!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am Doug Schulkind:

@Funky16Corners
There were others with feminine sounding voices. Johnnie Ray, for instance. When he showed up to sing at the Apollo, they were expecting an African American woman.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22am Funky16Corners:

True that, and Johnnie Ray was as odd/mannered a performer as ever rolled down the pike.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23am Doug Schulkind:

Johnnie Ray was the Jimmy Piersall of popular music.

Great Jimmy Scott set so far! I must admit, though, that when I saw "Great Scott!" as the theme of today's show I first thought of a collection of 82 Raymond Scott jingles that I learned about from a recent WFMU mailing: sundazed.com... Really great stuff.
