Good morning, Stan & listeners. Cloudy and -5 in Southern Finland & fine ethereal music to start the day.

Hello Stan and Derbyshire
Is there a station promotion of this album for a reason?

Vincent Nifigance:

@Iggy It’s just a massively anticipated record by a groundbreaking artist Universally appreciated by FMU DJs.

Morning all Stanners. Hey Vince.

Good morning David!

New Jersey isn’t exactly Universal. I was curious as it’s a musical oddity. I dig it in my own way. A couple others on the last thread didn’t really dig it or the frequency of play.

Gurd moaning everyone

David (in London):

Hey Stan. Greetings to you. I'm still on a complete high after seeing the one and only Mr Iggy Pop last night. He was absolutely out-flippin'-standing.

Wow, David, that's great. I didn't even know he was still gigging. Where was it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19am
David (in London):

He was playing his new album (which is superb) as a one-off show at the Barbican as part of the London Jazz Festival. He had a young band, tight as a duck's arse, and looked like he was loving every second of it. The audience were absolutely nuts for him. He did the new stuff, highlights of his solo career (including some pretty obscure ones, like Zombie Birdhouse (!) and one off Raw Power (Death Trip). I confess I felt rather emotional afterwards.

Iggy Pop? Holy shit man. That's great.

(Returns with coffee)
That sounds amazing and so does at at 72.
I can imagine the crowd reaction. If he played at the Barrowlands up here in Glasgow the place would go into orbit!
You were one lucky guy to go to that gig.

@Stanley - Yeah, it was one of those nail-biting hanging on the phoneline moments waiting to see if you'd got there in time before it sold out. Lady Luck smiled on me thankfully.

Ah, in which case, pretty understandable, prime fmu material
