November 30, 2019:
Ani Cordero On Her Powerful New Album El Machete and Indie Music From Puerto Rico
Listen to this show:
Pop-up player!
Ani Cordero's Puerto Rican-American-Global music is politically charged and fun to dance to! Recent events provided plenty of raw material for her powerful new album El Machete. But they also inspired Ani to co-found PRIMA, a non-profit that supports independent music from Puerto Rico. Ani joins us ahead of her World Music Institute gig this Friday night December 6th at Bushwick's Sultan Room (Abraham Dorta opens; 7 pm doors, 8 pm show) to sample El Machete and to introduce some of the indie artists making waves in Puerto Rico.
