Just ended a dreary shift
Sometimes I like it like this
Unfortunately the bottom line doesn’t

LiXiviated Life:
To regard the frost and the boughs
Of the pine-trees crusted with snow;
And have been cold a long time
To behold the junipers shagged with ice,
The spruces rough in the distant glitter” - Wallace S.

Bear Mountain to Graymoor Monastery
The AT links the two.
Steep, snow covered and slippery with ice. I was two miles in before I stopped cursing the winter and began to feel its wonder.
LiXiviated Life:
I’ve been lurking around lately.
Busy with “chores” in the early mornings.
I have an Rx that demands my full attention starting around 5:00 AM.
I’ve been given a reprise today.
How’re you dealing with your Tx ?

On Wednesday overnight myself and 4 pawed best friend were disobeying the closed after dust signs close by( totally normal) the full moon stars and lower 20° temps . It wasn’t windy so it was bearable.the soundscape was incredible.
The ice was cracking off the branches surrounding us
I did write while it happened.

TDK60, good morning.
spamoni: yeah, and I fear that the world is tipping the wrong way.
Bop Monroe: thanks!
Ignatatus666:
The trail is super popular. I run into people from everywhere coming here to hike. However my most memorable moment was meeting a young couple that was camping on the Bear Mountain side that had their tent molested by a bear while they were in it. Classic!! They were warned though that it was mating season

Not sure who wrote the poem you posted
This was by me on that Wednesday night
**Full moon
Cold air
Snow covered trees
Snow covered ground
Rolling creek
Dog explores
Star filled sky
Crackling ice
Paws crunching snow and rustling leaves
This is our life
This is our life
