	1:12pm northguineahills: went to a fabulous gay xmas party last night (it was labelled as such). It was the John Waters xmas party I always wanted (kitsch and all), and told the host such, and was impressed I was a huge fan of Waters. I noticed that outside NYC, the gay scenes in smaller cities are way much more insular. My bros (who were friends of the host), myself and a friend were the only straight lads there. It was the closest to feeling like I was at a NYC party I've been since I left NYC.

But two years ago the keynote was John Waters, and he was worth the price of admission. The newly elected president of the organization won my vote when she announced that her hero is Iggy Pop. Here's hoping Iggy is the next keynote...
